Hi,
The friendly folks at microsoft recently 'helped' me with some PC issues.
Still have BIAB and RB but can't add FX in RB like distortion, eq, reverb, etc. How do I get it back?

Gone, You may get more response and help if you post your question in the Realband forum and title it with something like "Help Effects Not Working In RB."  Good luck and hope you get it fixed. PS. You can also call support if you need them. They are great at walking you through issues with the software.

I'd start with re-installing BiaB and RB and then getting the latest patch. Whatever MS 'fixed' should get put back in place with a new install.
What happens when you try? Are the effects there in the list or did they get lost?
Do they just not make sound?
A few more details may help with other possibilities.

My choices are: cyberlink demuxer 2.0 and add vst plugin.
Will try to reinstall. Thanks.

I agree with the advice to completely uninstall and then do a reinstall. Perhaps a phone call to tech to be sure you get the uninstall done correctly. Some programs require editing the startup directory thing...whatever it's called.... to remove the lines BB write there.
DO a clean reinstall and apply ALL of the patches PG has issued for the program you have.
Also understand that not all VST's and plug ins will run on some systems. Back in the day, most of the commercial ones I bought would run just fine..... but some of the freebies and third party plugs would not run on my machine.

Demuxer should probably be added to RB ignore list ..
You could try using Add VST plugin and see if you can load the .dll files again to regain them. Maybe the list got wiped out and the rest of the program is fine.. hard to say without seeing it.
There is also a separate executable to reinstall the PGPlugins if you are comfortable with that. At least you'll get the basic included plugins back if that is all you are missing.
In my version it is an executable labeled pgdx_plug_2_0_0.exe (in the Realband folder)
This is the app that installs the plugins during the installation process; may be worth trying this first.
