Hi mates, i will try and describe shortly the problem. After some years i've been using only mac version of biab, i got back to windows for some reasons, such as the conductor, audio files managing and so on. Everything worked well for a while, except some crashes here and there. Everything got worse in the last few month! Given that the problem started after updating to windows 10, but i really wouldn't swear this is the cause, also for the reason that i haven't read about many trouble with win 10 here in the forum. Given also that i haven't the same trouble with other music apps (ableton live i.e.). Anyway... First (minor) problem is that uploading of songs became slower. Second (big) problem is that after some bars, or sometimes after one chorus, or sometimes never (yes, it's random) the audio becomes discontinuous, starts with some breakings than disappears. Meters in the biab mixer indicate that the song is going on, but the output is mute. I made lots of tries before posting here with these results: 1) outputting biab by an external drive (beheringer) as usual, gives the mentioned problem. 2) outputting through internal audio (by the earphone out of the pc): ok if set on Mime driver, although it makes difficult playing a midi keyboard along. If i try to set on asio driver it says "asio driver non found" or "error loading asio driver". Disabling internal drivers worked for a little while, than again trouble. Reinstalling of biab (yep!) didn't changed the story. Anyone intuits what happens?
Edit: forgot to say it doesn't depend on real tracks management for sure: behaves as described also playing just a loop or an audio track.

Try running Geekbench and let us know the performance results. It's likely that the problem is with the machine itself, and not BiaB

Yes, Geekbench, or Performance Monitor (both downloadable free) will help rule out the computer, and I suspect a problem because of your complaint about loading time.
Windows 10 should not affect BIAB. Also, this doesn't sound like a problem that reinstalling BIAB will fix. Just to be safe, though, within BIAB you should do Opt. menu, Return to Factory Settings.
Do you know for certain the Behringer external drive is good? And is it not full?
Your sound device could be the real culprit here, as it isn't finding an ASIO driver when you apparently think it should. I would never use the internal sound card. We need to know what sound device you have. Then we need to know what your settings for output are in BIAB.
It's fine to use MME with BIAB, although as you found out, latency with a real-time keyboard performance can be a problem. Again, this points to getting your sound device problem fixed. Did you check for Windows 10 drivers?

Sometimes when I play my tracks in BIAB they stop the first time at about bar 4. Then they play fine the next time. Almost like a preview. It never really bothered me as I don't use them live but I wonder if there is a reason and if that's what is happening to you as well.

And make sure that you are running the latest audio drivers for Windows 10. You didn't say which version of Windows you updated from; generally, Win8.1 drivers seem to do mostly okay in Windows 10. But if you get back to Windows 8 and Windows 7, you may start to find some incompatibilities. I would look on the web and see if there are updated drivers. During upgrade, Windows will use what it finds, which may not be the best driver.
Of course, you may have already done this, in which case, never mind...

Here is what Geekbenck says: http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/4008993What can we deduce from it? I've done some more tests today: 1) return to factory settings 2) replaced the old uca 200 behringer with the newer Q802usb. Always behringer but newer. The problem here is that the latest driver for usb audio from behringer were done for win 7 and no more updated, for what i know. Biab settings are: driver type Asio/ Audio driver behringer usb audio. @John: I updated to win 10 from 8.1. Well, biab stopped playing a couple of times (suddenly this time, without breaks) over about 30 mins using or so. I also played a playlist from iTunes too, and no stops here. And thanks to people helping me.

Try unchecking the "fast generation of RealTracks" (or something like that) in Preferences, RealTracks.

Thank you Matt, tried this way too, but as I said the problem comes out also if i have all tracks disabled and only the audio track playing, or the RT are frozen. Did you take a look at the benchmark?

Yes. I'm surprised by such a low score from an i7.

Just to know, i had a wedding gig today, something around eight hours with the pc on. Used windows media player, itunes, ableton live, kontakt5 continuously and no issues with audio. If all is working in the chain (audio output of pc->external audio device->mixer->speakers) should i deduce again that updating to win 10 created problem to biab?

I doubt it. Windows 10 by itself should not affect BIAB. If anything, performance is slightly improved over Windows 7.
