All these years after Woodstock, the team of linguists have decoded a clean translation.

I am not sure if it as funny to everyone else as it is to me, but each time I see this clip I am on the floor.

Wow, what a gem! I could never understand rock lyrics. Finally, now I know what he said. Thank you.

That was too funny.

I've got my own version but I don't think they'd let me post it here.

Help me out here - as someone who was just a toddler when Joe Cocker came on the scene: What is it that made people bother listening to him?

Is it the 'gawker' effect? That is, there's a car accident on the road and you rubberneck, even though you tell yourself you're not going to do it? Were people just waiting for him to punch himself in the face?

I don't get it, but the video was ace!

Joe and the gang were knocked out by the black gospel sound that Ray Charles achieved. They took it to another, hard punched level.

Either you get it or ya don't, but the guy got soul.

Mac you're up kind of late now aren't you?

I've moved to Colorado Springs. Simultaneously watching an episode of The Prisoner and forum surfing.

Ah, The Spugs.

Me Academy daze up there.

When I was there, Academy Blvd. was a little two-laner with not much more than the Mission Bell Restaurant at the end of it.

That funny smell is fresh air, my friend.

Enjoy.

This transcription is possibly what the rest of the non-english speaking world heard anyway, LOL.

When I was on a European tour with the "Mamas and Papas" and Scott McKenzie in 1991-1992 there was something strange going on.
People came asking who "Anna-Lisa Brown" is. First we didn`t know what they meant until we found out, everybody was hearing Anna Lisa Brown instead of "All the leaves are brown", which is the first line of "California Dreaming".

Great Video, Mac, thans for posting.

Sandra

I love Joe Cocker's singing, but I'll never try to pretend his words were intelligible. That was a hysterical video!
