How do they work, what do they do etc...?

Some notation programs use the "Music XML" file format as a common standard to import and export music notation files.
The addition of this capability means BiaB generated chordsheets can be read by some scoring programs.

Music XML is a standard format for exchanging music notation. One significant use is to export a BIAB song and import it into a music notation program. You may say, MIDI does that, but this is far better since it transfers chords and other info that are not included in the old MIDI standard. Does that help?
I think this new feature is a very big deal, one that we have requested.

Glad to read your response. I understood you and other users requested for the feature to be added but I did not understand why using a Music XML file was preferable to midi. Nice to know!

Jim, yes, saves me up to an hour per leadsheet if I don't have to enter the chords all over again.

Maybe I'm getting old and senile.......Today I saw the BIAB 2106 advert. One feature I drool over having is MusicXML....today, I saw it and jaw hit the floor.....Credit Card in hand....I raced to my cell phone, put in my order and I've been jumping up and down for an hour.....YEEEEEEAAAHHH! After years of asking for this very important time saving feature, its here! I don't know about anyone else, but this feature alone was worth the upgrade. Next year I'll go for the Audiophile edition, but for now I'm a VERY happy camper....let the games begin and THANK YOU PG Music for saving me from a LOT of late nights.....
Edward. Matt, you know what I mean buddy, Merry Christmas to all. Now to get to work on all my Jazzy and Bossa Christmas set lists!
