In the UK we have a cheap, but sometimes excellent value, supermarket based in Germany, called Lidl.
They had an offer yesterday a velocity sensitive drum set for the price in the subject line. A picture
From this company
pedals for hihat and kick drum, 3 toms and 2 cymbals and real drum sticks!!

Hmm that could be good for the grandchildren or, more importantly, me grin

So I bought it,carefully removed from the box, plugged it in and stuck a usb chord in the port and WAHAY!!!! I now have an electronic drum kit which is velocity sensitive so I can now "humanise" my midi drums with ease. Much easier than tapping my midi keyboard controller "in time", or step by step input.
There is "good bounce " on the pads so with a bit of practice I may become a drum hero, but look like an idiot. blush laugh
Animal from the Muppets look out!!!!

Now I need to make a stand so it is the right height and away I go cool

Always wanted an electronic drum kit but the price, and size, put me of, BUT this is a perfect size, and price, just gotta learn to play it now

Now to continue looking for presents for the little ones as this is mine now.

I was in my drugstore the other day and saw a placard for an electronic drum kit for $19.95, but no drum kit. I'll look harder next time.

Followed your link to the site. Similiar companies offer similiar products for sale during the Christmas season in the US. At that price point I rarely see a midi capable product sold in the US.

I consider you very lucky to purchase a product that is not advertised as midi capable but is in fact midi capable.

A very nice find!

Jim,

I thought I had linked to the product info, as that would have explained it better, so my bad.
I bought the kit by just reading the box in store and I was amazed at the specifications which GHinCH has now so kindly provided, thank you. (However if you pushed the magnification up to max on that picture you would have seen a midi switch at about 2 oclock by the snare pad)

Really good value!! and it now rests on my lowered sheet music stand I no longer use, a bit wobbly until I work out how to stop that smile

My New Year's resolution for 2016 is to be more clear in my posts blush

Take the chair off a broken down office chair. Typically it is the chair, arm rests or tilt control that is broken but the base is fine. Remove the chair from the base, drill a hole and use a nut and bolt to lock the tilt function to a fixed position then add a plywood platform. I've made several ugly but functional equipment stands in this manner.
