For some of my songs there are places where there's just a kick and snare, or kick and hi hats etc...
Maybe I missed it but I am not sure how, or if this is possible to have played as a part in a BB or RB track.
Thanks
T.T.

Hi Tony,
With MIDI, yes. Not with RealDrums.

In RB, if you could find the single drum sound you want, you can copy and paste. Otherwise, RealDrums are recorded with the whole kit into a stereo track and thus cannot be extracted into individual sounds.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Hi Tony,
I don't often respond on the forum but I thought I could tell you what I do. I tend to start the song in BIAB and then move it to RealBand. Once I have the song in RealBand I will note the tempo and save it. I then go to the drums folder under BB and locate the wav file of the drums that I am using. I will start a new song in RealBand and set the tempo to match the drum wav file I am using. I then do an audio insert of the drum wav file. Once I have a stereo drum wav track I will then change the tempo to match my song. I then export the drum track to a wav file in my song folder. Then I open my song file and then on a track I do another audio insert and it pastes in the stereo drum track that is at the correct tempo for my song. This file contains all the drum sounds. If you scroll to the end of the drum file you can usually find all the individual hits, snare, kick, cymbals, toms, etc. Then you can select and paste into your original drum track as needed. I have built long fills, placed hits on the ands of the count, and even special endings merging the individual hits as required. Once the song is complete I will then delete the entire drum track file. Hope this helps

Darren et al,
Ok that seems like quite the process you have developed there and I will definitely give it a try.
I also have the ability to use my MIDI drums from the DAW so I can play any drum beat I want with whatever drums sounds... If using the BB Real Drums, the trick is matching the sounds, which can be done but it's a bit labour intensive.
I too use BB to set up the song arrangement and add via RB, that seems to be a natural progression most people do.
I was just looking for a quick and easy way to put it into BB as I use BB to generate my bed tracks for clients at my studio, but not all of them can hear the ideas without actually hearing them, if you know what I mean...lol
Thanks

Please consider reposting in the Tips and Tricks part of the forum so the idea will be easier to find in the future.

I have a similar process to Darren. I create the song in BB and then export to Studio One for final editing. I've created a library of drum hits that I drag and drop where needed in the song. When I run across a good drum hit, I'll add it to the library. I've also added some hits by locating them at the end of the WAV files located in the Drums folder, as Darren described. I've never really used RB, but I imagine you could do similar with that.
