In all previous versions the chord text was colored red if you rested the chord.
In 2016 there is a display option to color the "Cell Rests (Text)" but this only seems to color the dots, not the actual chord text and the colored dots are not very obvious.
Am I missing something?
Was this corrected in the ill fated Build 428?

I agree, I couldn't find a way to automatically change the font color to indicate a shot/hold/rest. Only the 'dots' are colored, which are very difficult to see.

I also agree 100% on this. Why would anyone change something that worked great into something now where there is a real problem seeing the indicator. That was one of the 1st things I noticed when I brought up my songs in 2016 after upgrading. Not only myself but the 3 other musicians watching the screen who were familiar with the old version.
Not only is it hard to see 1, 2 or 3 dots next to the chord but it is even harder, if not totally impossible to see an F5 style change on a chord expecially if that change happens to be on a measure with a designator on it such as, using measure 5 as an example, 5a or 5b. All I get is a razor thin red line at the bottom of the colored square.
And no Tony, it was not corrected in the last patch.
I could not find a way to change it back using the display preferences at all.
Anyone else have any luck with it?
PG Music, please explain how the programmer thought this change helps thousand of BIAB users and please bring back the old way. At 67, I have a hard enough time seeing without some programmer making it more difficult.

Once again, I have to ask why PG or the beta testers don't pick up on obvious glitches like this. I know we are all supposed to worship PG as a small dedicated group of enthusiasts but Peter, you are running a business, not a charity.
I have been a user for 15 years and have bought every upgrade - I deserve better.

The dot size and F5 style change problem happens when superscript is selected (default).
1. Right click on the chord window
2. Select "Display Options"
3. Superscript chord extensions (main and additional)- Select "Never"
I use Arial font for best chord clarity.
I consider this a workaround and something that should be fixed.

Don, thanks for your input. My understanding though is that only the 'period' marks display in red, the chord is still in the main chord color. Previously, the chord 'text' changed color also.

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
