How hard would it be to change the style picker to where you audition a style, load the song demo, then you decide it's not what you want. When you go back to the style picker, it takes you back to the top of the list.
Is there a way to index the last style auditioned, song demo loaded, then wanting to continue with the next style in the list without starting back at the top and have to find where you left off?

+1 It would be ideal if the previously viewed item/settings remained available.

My wife had her driving test today. She got 8 out of 10. The other 2 jumped out of the way!

Good ideas but not sure exactly what would happen. There is a recently used styles list.

If I'm understanding MikeK correctly... This is something which is quite annoying to me, also.
In previous versions of BB that I've owned (2014, 2013, earlier), when I demo'd a style by loading it into the song, and then went back to try another style... the last style that I had loaded was highlighted in the stylepicker. All I had to do was go to the next in line, and try that one until I found what I liked.
Now, however, the stylepicker goes back to the top of the list, and I have to try to remember where in the list of 100's of styles I was before, so I can try the next one in line, etc.
Using a list of previously used styles is unworkable for this... I simply want to have the stylepicker "remember" my last picked style by highlighting it (as it did in the past), so that I have a reference point in the massive list of styles.
BTW, the improvements to the stylepicker, like font sizes and search capabilities are really nice and appreciated. Just this one throw-back to the earlier stylepicker would make it ideal! If there is a setting that changes this, please let us know. But it sure takes a lot longer to demo various styles in my song when I have to wade through the list each time.
Thanks!

I have never encountered this problem, but I do see how it would be irritating.
There are 2 ways to demo a style, one is a style demo where BIAB chooses the song/chords. The other is to demo the style with your current song, which uses your song's chords.
Until I am sure I want a particular style I stay in style picker and pay particular attention to the DEMO of the style using my chords.
So I have never opened a style I decided later to discard.

Yes, but who would NOT want to "show current style in list even if it doesn't match filter". This seems an unnecessary complication and anyway, who would associate the wording of this option with how the style list appeared when you go back to it? Also, although this trick works, the current style is actually off screen (off the bottom of the list) when you go back to Stylepicker - at least with my computer. Please, PG keep KISS in mind, there are too many options. Tony

Tobias...the link you shared may not be as convenient as the old way, but it may serve as a satisfactory workaround. (The nice thing about how it worked in the past is that it kept your current style right in front of your eyes, and made it easy to go to the next style. But you all know that, already!)
dga...Concerning staying in Stylepicker and using your song chords to demo a style... that's a great method. The only problem there is the extra time it takes to load the style/chords into BB and then play it. But that's still faster than going back and forth from song to stylepicker and then trying to find your previous place in the list.
Thank you very much to Tobias and dga for the info, and to Tony for further explaining the "show current style in list" prompt. It never occurred to me that this may be helpful. I had no idea what it was for and didn't try to find out. That's just my ignorance speaking.
Again, thanks to all of you for the help!

If you know that you just want to load the next style, you can do that without going into the style picker. <Alt><Shift><F8> loads the next style sorted by alphabet. <Ctrl><Alt><Shift><F8> goes the other way and loads the previous style sorted by alphabet.

I agree, It needs a "real" fix. Prior to owning 2016 my previous version was BIAB 2012. If I remember correctly, there was an option I had set so I could double click on a style and it would play it "with chords of song" without closing the style picker. I would make a short portion of the song, maybe 4 bars Substyle A and 4 bars Substyle B. Double click on a style to sample it.

I agree that I'd still like to see this put back into Stylepicker.

This has been fixed in BIAB 2016 for Mac...
However... the bug is back in another form. If you FAVORITE a style, the list resets to the top again and you lose your place in the style list. That's very inconvenient when you are actually in the mode of searching for a suitable style.
