[Disclaimer: I did search for the answer to my question and didn't find it, so sorry if this is has been asked and answered before.]

I have BIAB 2016 Everything pak installed on my studio computer and my laptop. I'd like to work on the same songs with both computers. So I need to sync a few folders, I suppose.

I use Dropbox as the folder for all my songs so that is no problem, all song info is there. However, I'd like new Styles that I add to Favorites, and other preferences to be seen the same by both computers. Can anyone tell me which folder(s) I would want to copy to Dropbox and transfer between machines to accomplish this and keep both machines synced?

Many thanks in advance. I appreciate the help, and this forum in general. I'm learning a lot from you guys quickly.

When I first tried BIAB a couple of decades ago it didn't suit my needs, but I wish I had revisited it sooner than now. I am stunned by the quality of the RealTracks and Styles. Plus integration with my DAW make this a new world of limitless possibilities. Thanks PG Music for staying in the game all these years. This is an exceptional product!

Welcome to the forum. As you have seen there is a great deal of help here.

Now to your question.
I can't give an exact answer at the moment. This is what I would do:
I would copy all the files that have been changed in the Drive:\BB folder.

What I cannot answer is the resultig question:
Can I access these files directly on the cloud? My wild guess is "No."

Again, what would I do?
I'd write a small DOS batch program that I'd run to open BIAB.
This would copy all the files from a certain cloud folder into my BB folder, start BB and after closing BIAB copy all current date files from the BB folder to the cloud.

I have not done this yet with BIAB and my experience writing DOS batch programs has been maintained like some of the seldomly used rural roads in a desert. There are weeds, sand, stones and pot holes galore prohibiting smooth driving.

So, in other words, I assume from your replies (thanks) that any change I make in BIAB (preferences, user styles etc etc) are all stored in some file within the BB folder?
Is this correct? No other files in some other Windows folder are created / changed?
If this is true, then it's very easy to keep up to date multiple copies of BIAB on different computers, any decent syncronization app will do that (it's just a matter of syncronizing just the new / modified files).
Right?

Probably yes. I don't know that BIAB scatters files across other directories.

I have two identical biab installs on two pc's and run synctoy each week to sync both biab folders.

Right?

If you have different drive letter assignments between systems then just copying all files is likely to give problems. E.g. if a copied file contains a drive reference.

I would say install BIAB on both computers and register both as you can register 3 pc's

Then you save your songs into a dropbox (or googledrive or similar) folder. That way once DB synchronised you can work on it on any of your two pc's

Yes, that's a good idea. However, it's more than just about the songs, it's about user styles, preferences, usertracks etc.
That's why I was wondering if keeping all the content of the BB folder (and all subfolders of course) syncronized in the 2 (or more) computers will effectively let you work on an exactly the same BIAB configuration on each computer. This is true only if BIAB saves everything inside its own BB folder. If it saves stuff in other folders (like the Windows system folder or others) then things would get more complicated.

Once thing to be careful of, however, is that the configuration files on both computers will be different (unless both machines are the same). I think you would need to have some sort of exclusion for those files, otherwise, when you change soundcard settings on one, they'll get transferred over to the other - not necessarily what you want.

OK guys, thanks for your help.

Truth be told saving my favorite styles is as easy as going to "Favorite Styles" and clicking on "Save Set." I just save it into the same cloud folder [Dropbox] and click "Load Set" on the other computer.

Thanks to the guys in Tech Support for the definitive answer...
