Hello again---this time I have a question about entering chords in to the chord chart. I am attempting to enter the chord progressions from an arrangement of Bach's Well Tempered Clavier Prelude.
Most are accepted fine, but the following are not:
Gdim7, Adim7, G#dim7, A#dim7b11, A7sus4, G#dim7b9/A, A7sus4
Are there other ways that I should be entering these chords? I am a complete newbie to music composition and am following another person's chord chart.
Basic question, why is it that BIAB will not accept certain chord names? Does it have something to do with music composition or simply computer programming?

Hi Larry. First, the standard for chord notation is not absolute.
Second, BIAB has a few of its own conventions.
Third, the version of BIAB will determine the correct answer in a few cases.
In version 2016, you can enter Gdim7. I just did it. In older versions, when you enter a diminished chord like Gdim you will hear a Gdim7 chord in most styles but it displays as Gdim.
I can't think of any reason to enter b11. That's enharmonically the same as a major third. Can you give me an example? Or did you mean #11? You can enter G9#11 but not G7#11 in BIAB (I've put that on the wishlist).
A7sus4 should enter fine, but display and play as A7sus. If you have version 2016, you can control this. Do Preferences, Display. You will see a checkbox to Display sus as sus4.
The most helpful thing you can do is right-click on a blank cell in the Chordsheet and select Chord Builder. Then look at all the supported chord types in the pull-down area marked Other.

Gdim7, Adim7, and G#dim7 all work here. A7sus4 comes up as A7sus, it is the same chord. I got A#dim7b11 in by using A#dim7/b11 but that voicing my not be what you like. If working in MIDI you can rearrange the notes to your liking.
A G#dim7 contains notes G#-D-B-E#. A flat 9 in the G# scale is an A so you have A listed twice in your chord G#dim7b9/A. Just type G#dim7/A and you will get the chord you want.
