I've had problems with getting 3rd party VST plug-ins to work for years on PowerTracks and RealBand. They would work great for a day or so and then somehow get corrupted and, though they would run, the output was very weird.
Today I figured out a work-around. It seems to work fine if you only have 1 plug-in added (there is room for 4). If you have more than one, just mute the ones you aren't using and the one you've selected will work.
Plug-ins are very important to me and I'm happy I can now use them on RealBand. In the past I've had to export a track, run the plug-in Audacity, and then import it back to RealBand.

Which plugins, if you don't mind me asking ...
I seem to be able to run 20-30 plugins without issue, most 3rd party
Also, I'd ask what you mean by "just mute the ones you aren't using", as I am using them all.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Hi rharv - I'm glad it works so well for you. The main ones I use are from FinalMiz.biz I also use the free Electri-Q (posihfopit edition).
When you open Edit / Audio Effects / DirectX Plugins you'll see 4 places where plugins can be loaded. Next to each plugin location is a mute button. If I'm only using one of the plugin slots, it works fine, but if I have plug-ins in the other slots they need to be muted, even though you can only use one at a time and they haven't been selected. Some bug is causing them to not work properly.

This process is trying to hard write effects.
I usually use FX in realtime instead of hard writing them, by using the down arrow in the Tracks window.
Hard writing effects using the Edit menu is a much different process and indeed may work better one at a time for a given effect.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
