... in order of frequency of use (hek - list as many as you want).

Of course - I'm asking for numbers 2 through 5, because obviously Band-in-a-Box/Realband is number 1 for all of you : )

Reaper for what Band in a Box and RealBand cannot do so well
Adobe Auditon for finishing files
Nero for burning
SqView for playback on stage (specialized playback software for square dance callers)
and I'm looking into Traktor

The order is not so much frequency of usage but workflow.

Edit: I forgot MuseScore

For music production, I have ten programs that are indispensable:

Band-in-a-Box
SONAR (DAW)
Adobe Audition (stereo effects and editing)
Encore (music notation and leadsheets)
Ozone by Izotope (mastering)
Transcribe by www.seventhstring.com
CD Architect (CD burning)
Tap Tempo (determine beats per minute) free, by www.analogx.com [a real gem!]
PianoTeq (to use my desktop piano when BIAB is not playing)
V-Control Pro 2 (remote control of the studio PC using iPad or iPhone)

BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Slate VSX, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Heh, funny how many of us use Audition ..

RB
Audtion
Ozone
BiaB
Reaper

Those would be the most used familiar ones.
The Roland synth editors get used a bunch here also, but most people probably wouldn't include synth specific computer software although it is music related.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

BiaB/RB
Reaper
Audacity
Pitchswitch
Musescore

Have others but these are the most convenient for my applications.

BiaB
Logic Pro X/Ozone 6/Ozone 5/Nectar 2/Waves LinMB

Subsequent to BiaB generating RTs/Rds the usage is about the same as all of those following Logic Pro X are plugins.

1. Noteworthy Composer for notation (and secondly Notion)
2. RealBand as DAW (and secondly Sonar Platinum)
3. Diamond Cut Audio (for mastering, as well as to digitize and clean up vinyl record albums)
4. Native Instruments libraries using Kontakt
5. IK Multimedia libraries using SampleTank

I have a whole bunch of more music related software, but those are the top five (with a few alternates).

Biab for basic song construction
Chords (Winamp plugin) for chord recognition.
Real band for recording and mixing
Dimension pro for midi
Melodyne for vocal
Audacity for mastering
Ozone 5 for mastering
Nch switch file converter for mass normalization and converting
cgd-Karaoke creator for chords and lyrics
Nch video pad for video creation.
(Keeps me busy!)

Band in A Box
Real Band
Sonar
Wavepad

That's really about it.

BB obviously is my composing tool
RB is my audio track rendering tool
Sonar is where I add live tracks and mix to the final product
Wavepad is my audio editor and converter

EDIT: I don't consider these as "programs" in the same way as the main 4 I use.... however, in Sonar, as plugins, Ozone and Melodyne are my 2 go-to plugs.

SONAR
BIAB
Melodyne
Kontakt and other softsynths
Goldwave

that's not even FIVE, I guess!
I do have and use a lot of effects plugins in Sonar

most of my recordings use a mic, a preamp, a hardware compressor, then I mostly use my keyboard with audio outs, so i don't even use softsynths that much.

I use BIAB for scractch recordings as a guide, I use sonar for most everything else. goldwave for mastering.

Sonar Platinum DAW of choice
BIAB 2016 for arranging
RB for multiriffs
TRacks & EZ MIX for mastering as well as Studio One Pro
Melodyne Studio 4 for tempo extraction, vocals and tons of other stuff. pure magic.
EZ Drummer & EZ Keys + Jamstix, Rapture session for VSTI's.

That is my main stuff I use, I have Notion but I don't read music and don't know if this old dog will ever learn either.
