For some reason, the new section creates new line function isn't working in the latest update to BIAB.
It was working last week.
The checkboxes are set in both display and song form options - but it isn't working.
Any ideas?

When BIAB does not work as you know it should, do Options, Return to Factory Settings. Reboot and restart BIAB if that doesn't work.

djames, I have the latest build for 2016 and these are working fine for me. New sections are created each time a part marker is added to BIAB. The setting under "Song Settings" - found by right-clicking on the chord sheet and selecting Song Settings is the one that activates the option. I've marked this with ** on the below image. The setting under the "Display Options" - found by again right-clicking on the chord sheet is the setting that determines how many bars should be present before the break activates. As you can see on my settings below (marked with **), I have it set so that 2 bars must be present. Try setting this setting to "1" and see if it helps. Regards, Noel

This did not work - which I suspected would be the case.

Noel - as I had noted, I made sure this was set correctly - and it still isn't working.

Between last week when it worked, and now, did you update?

One other option to try is to rename the following files found in \bb.
1. "intrface.bbw" (there is no 'e' in the name)
2. "mysetup.dk"
Whenever I do this, I rename them to intrface.bbw.na and mysetup.dk.na. Naming them this way makes it easy for me to retrieve the files if my attempted solution doesn't work.
The above files are set up files and by renaming it forces BIAB to re-create new versions of them. It's the ultimate form or 'return to factory settings' in a sense.
I suggest using the Snipping Tool to save your midi driver setup, audio driver setup and display options setup because when new files are created, the system will be returned to how it was shipped from PG Music and these setup details will be erased.
Regards, Noel

This did not work - which I suspected would be the case. Are we to just assume you're using Biab 2016? It helps to give us the version, the latest patch you installed, EXACTLY what steps you took to make something work and did something change between the time it was working to when it didn't. We need those sorts of details when something doesn't work for you. After it worked last, did you add a 1st/2nd ending, a tag or other repeats? Bob

Another thought.... Have you tried creating a file from scratch? That is, rather than loading a previously saved song, click on "New" under the 'File' menu. When the blank chord sheet appears, simply click on a few locations and add part markers as shown below. Regards, Noel

In other words, the file may have become corrupt and the test suggested by Noel will reveal that.

Yes - I'm using 2016 with the latest updates (as I noted in the first post).
And, yes, it appears the file had some problem, because it works correctly with a new file.
And, yes, I had added, and later removed tag endings.
This seems to be a bug in the program.

Yes - I'm using 2016 with the latest updates (as I noted in the first post). No, all you said is you had the latest updates. Sure we could infer you meant 2016 but why not just say it, make it easy. For all we know your latest update could be for 2012.5 The reason I asked about repeats or tags is those have been canceling the new lines function for years and removing them doesn't bring it back. That's why a new song file now works. Don't know if that's a bug or not, I can see you not wanting a new line part marker in the middle of a 2nd ending but I can also see that if we decide to remove the repeats, that function should come back.
