How do I get Biab to show the proper key of the song, if I enter the chords for a song in tke key of G, the key window shows Bb and if I write G in the window the chords are transposed? Which is the proper way to go?

Just to make sure, are you entering the key you want into the key window first, before you enter any chords?

I don't think BIAB attempts to determine the key for you. It is good to select your key before you start entering your chords. Or, if you already entered chords and forgot to do that you can change the key by clicking the Key button and then selecting the correct key from the right panel to simply set key without transposing. If you set the key from the left panel it will set the key and transpose your song.

You also can select to change the key but don't transpose as one of the options

Pedwards32 is right, assuming you have version 2015 or 2016. Use a choice in the right-hand column.
I'm wondering why the OP had an original key of Bb, though.
Finally, it does make a difference in BIAB to set the correct key. The most obvious is the correct enharmonic choice, i.e. Is it D# or Eb?

Bb is the relative major to G minor. Could this be in play? Just an observation.

That's a very good guess. The original poster said it's in G. I assumed G major but if it was Gm the you are correct.

The correct key also seems to affect passing notes in the bass and other tracks. I find that if I have a transitional key change of 3 or 4 bars, it's often better to use F5 to set the key change for those bars. I don't always do it but it's something I keep in mind if some of the notes don't seem to fit.
