Could you pls advise?

Let's say you finish the song and now you have to mix it. I use EzMix and izotope Alloy for mixing.

Do you normally add effects / presets from your mixing plugins to RealTracks?

My sincere thanks,

I do. I only use a program like Audacity to finalize the mix. It has an ability to remove unwanted noise unlike most other programs. Then I set the volume to where I want it when I make a CD or a backing track.

If the mixing programs you're using are doing the job the way you want them to turn out I wouldn't change a thing. Stick to what works.

Hope that helps.

Yes, though I am more likely to take the SEQ file over to Power Tracks than to actually mix in Real Band. Same thing, of course.

It depends if I add effects during the mixing stage. Many RealTracks already have effects applied. If you are using Realtracks like the rockabilly or dreamy tracks, whatever effects you use will need to blend, compliment and match the effects inherent in the RealTracks.

I prefer to record tracks dry and add effects during the mix for one simple reason; I am a beginner at using effects and it normally takes multiple tries to find the sound I'm seeking.

In your situation you have two fine mixing tools, Alloy and EZMix, with a large variety of presets. Each preset is a signal chain of effects with settings optimized for a specific situation. It's like having a sound engineer setting up the mixing board for you. Some of those presets might help you get the right sound during recording tracks while others might work better during mixing. Who knows? The thing is it's your ears that determine when you've obtained the right sound.

Short answer for me; yes, lots of them. In both the Track FX slots and the Aux FX slots .. sometimes the A1 main FX slots as well .. and rarely, the Subgroup FX.
20-30 of them on a RB project is not uncommon here.

Whether it is a Realtrack or not makes no difference in my decision; once rendered it is simply an audio track .. and audio tracks quite often fit better with some FX.
