I can't say when this started but now whenever I use Melodist every instrument, except drums, and every style sounds like a synth on acid. It's interesting to hear a Dixieland Jazz song sound like Emerson, Lake and Palmer on drugs, but not the sound I'm looking for on this occasion. If I create a song or open one from disk it seems fine.
Any ideas on a resolution would be appreciated.

Lee,
I take it that you are referring to midi tracks and the midi melodist. There are a few possibilities that could cause this.. tuning, octave setting, melodist range, etc.
If things have been normal and this problem has just arisen, the easiest solution is simply to return to factory defaults under the Options (Opt.) menu. (It will pay to take a screenshot of your midi and audio settings before you reset as it will make it easier to put them in place again.)

Noel,
Before I read your reply that's exactly what I did. I reset the factory defaults, although it didn't seem to have an immediate impact. Not sure what I did beyond that, but things sound normal again. The weird thing is that I'm also getting periodic crashes as well. I sent the latest to Support.

Lee, Often when a reset is performed, it's necessary to close and re-open BIAB for the settings to take effect. Maybe this is what happened. Glad it's working again. Noel
