Running Windows 10, BIAB 2016.
I installed program and MIDI styles, but left real-track styles on the USB drive. Worked fine until a few days ago, so long as I didn't need real tracks. When I needed them, I plugged the USB drive into the computer and all was fine.
A few days ago, BIAB startup (build 430, btw), initial window showed only (1) the top menu bar, (2) the mixer in the top-right, and (3) the chord-entry stuff. No other icons or displays (i.e., song name). IF, though, I then plugged the USB drive in, the window changed to show everything as I expected.
Today I decided to uninstall and reinstall BIAB from scratch. This time, I put everything on the internal hard drive. NOW the chord-entry is ALSOl gone, even if I plug the USB drive in. Nothing changed when I updated with builds 430 and 431. Pressing F3 (open a song) calls up the expected dialog, but nothing happens if I select a song. FINALLY ... when I terminate the program I get an exception message: NOT ENOUGH TIMERS and some long address.
Upon more exploration, I see that "uninstall" left a bunch of registry values lying around, including what I believe to be names of custom folders.
What tha...? What do I need to do to get back to "BIAB not installed" to start over again?
Thanks. -Mel

Mel, BIAB/RB write very little to the registry. As far as I understand it, it's mostly about fonts needed for display. A couple of other additions to the programs such as Amplitube and Sampletank also need to use the registry. For the last 10 years, I have always installed new versions of the program straight on top of older versions.... I have never once bothered with trying to 'uninstall'. When I've changed computers, I have simply copied the whole \bb folder and all subfolders to my new computer. Once copied, I then run the minimum install to load what's needed into the registry. Then it's just a matter of re-directing BIAB/RB to the Realdrums and Realtracks folders (these settings are under Options). What folder did you put the program in? If you installed to a sub-folder of "Program Files" or "Program Files(x86)", it will most likely lead to problems. PG Music recommend that BIAB and RB are installed off the root directory.... eg. x:\bb, x:\Realband (where x: is a hardrive). Try renaming "intrface.bbw" and "mysetup.dk" in your BB folder. This is the ultimate version of "return to factory settings". I'd rename them to "intrface.bbw.old" and "mysetup.dk.old". This makes it easy to find the files again if you want to restore them. Note that there is no 'e' or 'a' located with the 'r' in "intrface.bbw". Renaming the above, forces BIAB to re-create new versions of the files when the program is started. This may well solve your problems. After starting the program, you will need to go into to Options and set the path for Realtracks and Realdrums. These settings are under "Opt | Preferences | Realtracks" and "Opt | Preferences | Realdrums" Regards, Noel

Noel96: I had always installed BIAB over older versions, too, without incident. At any rate, I did what you suggested ... renamed those two files ... and ... back in business! Thanks! -Mel My original music ... https://open.spotify.com/user/quiprosen/playlist/3lcfXDU9pJ4JNZ73qvDw1d
