I would like to see a feature "Improvisor Assist" that would be used when BIAB is recording audio.
This idea is based on Bob Keller's paper:

This would be for people playing a single note instrument like a sax or a chromatic harmonica.
While recording audio in BIAB, a display would show what note you're playing and how it relates to the chord that is currently being played. If you're playing one of the chord tones then the display would be in green. If you're playing a "color" tone (this is defined in Bob Keller's paper) then the display would be in light green. If you're playing an "approach tone" which is a half step away from a chord tone (and not already a color tone), then the display would be in blue. And finally "avoid notes" would be colored in red.

I think this would give red/green colorblind players an unfair advantage, since every note is fair game in jazz improvisation. Except sometimes A#, on Tuesdays. Matt, Considering the liberties you Jazzers take with melodies, puce would be great color for those fly specks on your scores! (limping for cover and concealment) Don
