Pressing the DXi - Direct Render (save WAV file) button gets this error. What could be wrong? My BIAB is activated (2016) and up to date. I run BIAB as administrator. I'm on Win 10 Pro 64bit connected to the internet. I have write access to the selected drive/directory.

That was an excellent post. All details included.
For quickest resolution I'd probably try the Chat feature in the Support area; PGMusic staff is much more likely to know what the numbers mean.

Chat: Click Support, then Live Help in the top menu.
Copy/Paste this thread to them in the Chat window, as it gives a lot of good info.

They appear open now, even given the holiday weekend here..

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Wait - are you Ed, the (rather amazing) bapu from the Cakewalk / SONAR forums? If so, that explains the superb problem statement. [I am Riojazz over there}

I was going to welcome you to the forum (3 posts) but I see you registered six years ago. Anyway, welcome to participating on the forum. We all will be better off if you stay active here.

I don't know the answer to your problem, because it looks like you set everything correctly. Bob is right, this will probably require PG Music assistance if anyone is to make sense of the addresses in the error message.

Just to eliminate the obvious, what DXi are you using, and does it work on playback? Is it 64-bit, and if so, are you using JBridge?

Bapu.... I was going to ask if you are the same Bapu from cake...

What are you trying to accomplish? From the settings you selected, it looks like you want to export as individual normalized tracks.

My assumption is, as a cakewalk user, the end result is a finished song using BB files were needed and you playing the parts live that you and others can play. Fair assessment?

If so.... I'm going to tell you how I do this process. It's essentially 3 steps.

Compose the music first in BB and get everything like you want it..... tempo, key, song structure, breaks, style, etc.... You should be able to play along with it and it should play exactly how you want the finished project to work.... intro, structure, endings... when it's like that... Don't worry about the details at this point. Simply save it in your file folder. Note: try to use the styles that have real tracks in them as opposed to the midi based styles.

Now, open it in real band. Load it and let RB generate the audio tracks. Now, use RB to add the additional tracks and instruments you might be looking for. This is generally where I'm adding the steel and dobro and fiddle to my tunes. Once I have the tracks I want and need, I simply click on, to select, the whole track, and chose EXPORT as a wave to my project's working folder. I export one track at a time. It takes about 60 second to export the ones I want.

Then, from inside Sonar, I select IMPORT AUDIO and my basic project is now in Sonar ready for the live tracks and vocals and final mixing.

Hope that was useful to you.

Since you are saving the individual tracks to a WAV file, did you try dragging them to the DAW window? That is another method to accomplish the same task. I used to use that method but it takes a little longer to export the WAV files and it will save them in your Drag-Drop folder, usually C:\bb\DragDrop.

(See http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=331864&Searchpage=2&Main=48582&Words=render+to+wav&Search=true#Post331864)

Never did get an answer to that one, but back to your problem.

I just finished a 22 song, double CD using BIAB tracks and probably exported over 300 WAV files before the project was completed. 95% of them were exported using the Render to Stereo Wave File etc.. method instead of the DragDrop method. Never had a problem like this except when I used a soundfont DXI called VSTSynthfont and a particular soundfont it obviously did not like. That problem went away when I changed the soundfont. I also used Coyote, Sampletank and Yamaha's S-YGX50 dxi plugins and did not run into any problems in the project.

It really helps when you provide as much info as possible, especially on the particular DXI plugin you are using.

Also try (1) turning off the Normalize, (2) save to MP3, (3) save to a different drive, (4) change your default DXI, (5) revert to factory settings and so on to see if your problem goes away.

There is always a solution if you dig deep enough.

Is the problem specific to the song file? EG. if you load in Band-in-a-Box demo song and try to render it with the same settings, do you get the same error?
