I discover new things in BIAB all the time. But this one, melody embellishment, is really useful and here's why. We print out the music, the melody for our choir at church. It has to be pretty much "vanilla", meaning very strict with no variations so that it will print out properly. So when I found the embellishments, that can be played during playback only if chosen, I will tell you, it was awesome. If I had to take the time to "put all those nuances in", I'd be an extra day just doing that! Now the choir can hear the melody with some extra life in it, but still be able to read their parts perfectly because of the disciplined rhythms shown in the individual parts. Way to go BIAB!

Good observation. What I like about BIAB's embellishment is the ability to adjust many parameters. I generally throttle it way back, but it can sound much better than plain.

It's a MIDI function, and it's been around a long time (decades, I think). I believe it was improved somewhat maybe ten years ago?

I use Melody Embellisher pretty often. Obviously, it's MIDI-only, but it can do some neat things. I input my melody straight, and then let embellisher provide vibrato, occasional turns, slight variations is rhythm. It works really well when you have an instrumental break with the melody being played (for when I'm not doing that myself).

Something like the BIAB Embellisher function is also found in some DAW software under the name, Humanize or similar. We used to program CAL scripts in Cakewalk Pro Audio, now evolved into SONAR. But nothing else I've seen matches the control and ease of use that BIAB gives us for doing this. It's good you pointed it out, since it's been available a long time but never seems to get mentioned.
