I created a file from scratch, and originally had everything muted except bass and drums. I made some note changes to the bass part, so had that part frozen. I created a wav file with this setup and then saved the BIAB file. Now I can't seem to make any changes, such as muting, volume, panning to bass or drums. I can unmute and control the other parts, but bass and drums seem to be frozen, and always play. I unfroze the bass part, but still can't change it. I saved and reopened the file, changed to a different style, exited and reopened BIAB, looked for possible settings that might cause this, but nothing helps. Any ideas??

Bill, It sounds like you have a rendered audio file in the same directory as the song file and that this is playing along with the BIAB file. To double-check this, go to the Audio track and mute it.  If it cannot be muted, it's possible that you have created Performance files for your tracks (assuming you have a recent version of BIAB). These performance files will be present in your song's directory. They will be files like "song_name Bass.wav" (or mp3, wma, in place of wav). These can be deleted (although renaming is probably a better option if there's a likelihood that you want to keep them). Let us know if this helps. Regards, Noel

That did it! I just deleted the audio file, which I don't want. Sure glad to have you experts around! Some of these things are pretty darn hard to find.
I know this is "off topic", but while I have your attention? Do you know why some styles always seem to reset all volume levels to 90 each time the song is opened? Is there some setting that will override that?

Bill, try going to the MIDI options screen and uncheck the box "Style Volume Changes" to see if that fixes it.

Well, now I can't seem to duplicate the volume change problem. Maybe something changed in the latest version of BIAB? I'm pretty sure it was the "built-in" styles, such as ZZJAZZ, where I had this issue. So files that are saved as SG1 or MG1, for example. But doesn't seem to be happening now. I'll keep an eye out for it happening again, and try the suggestion. Thanks!
