Hello, I'm new here so please be gentle with me  I wonder can someone help me with this? I'm using newly-purchased BIAB 2016, and it's ok so far except for this probpem which is wicking me off. On my old version of BIAB (11) I used to be able to go to the 'Styles' list, click on a style and hear what it sounded like. Now, in BIAB 2016 when I click on a style I get a pop up window telling me I need to be connected to the Internet. I have two PCs. PC1 is my work machine and PC2 is my Internet machine. I have always stuck to the rule; "Don't put your work PC on the Internet, keep it just for work". I like to adhere to this very strictly and now feel a bit cheated that BIAB won't let me audition a style without Internet connection. This is a pretty stupid idea, what is wrong with the styles being resident on my hard drive like they used to be in the past? I really need an answer / workaround for this as there's no way I'm connecting my Work PC (Music, GFX and personal stuff) to Hackers' Paradise. Thanks for looking.

I haven't taken time to look it up, but there is a thread here on the forum that discusses your issue. There is a download of the demos available on the PGMusic site at no cost for those who are off-line from the internet. When connected to the internet, the audition accesses the demo online. Hi Charlie and Ole,
So, when we press Demo, we're actually listening to the demo through the internet? I thought the demos were part of our software package. What a great idea! Some styles don't have a demo available yet so all Dr. Peter's guys need to do is add the demo to the website instead of sending through a patch that we all have to add to the software. I guess that's why they get the big bucks! My internet connection speed is so fast, I never noticed. I thought I was hearing the demo from my disk drive. Good stuff!

Now I'm confused. Charlie's Demo Download button takes me to a page where all demos reside so I can download them. Which is it? Am I hearing my demos from my computer or the internet? I bought the 2016 Ultrapak Plus. Thanks.

Lee, you probably have the demo on a local disk. It only goes to the Internet if you don't.

Here is how PGMusic explains it:
"This is an entirely optional zip download. It is mainly to benefit customers who use Band-in-a-Box on an offline computer (e.g. a studio computer that isn't connected to the internet).
With some of the style demo functions (for example, double-clicking on a style in the StylePicker), Band-in-a-Box will search online if it doesn't find the demo on your local hard disk. There are a few reasons why you might not have a particular demo on your local disk; perhaps you don't own that style but still want to audition it, or maybe you ordered a download-only copy of the program."

Ditto for me guys. Thanks for clearing that up. So far, I've only run into one style for which there was no demo. No worries. There are SOOOO many from which to choose, I just move onto the next .
