Is it any good? I'm pretty much a beginner. I've been taking lessons for a year with a teacher but I thought I would sound a bit better than this by now. He's got me jamming over just a single major seventh chord in the appropriate positions up the neck, but I really have no idea what to play and I'm just going up and down the scales.  Doogie

I have the two Essential Blues Guitar video lessons. I have enjoyed them a lot, especially the first one (101 blues riffs). Very melodic riffs in a wide variety of styles, and most of them 12 bars long. Great value for me.

Other than being a very happy customer I have no interest in this course. Actually all of his courses, but anyway if you want to learn to play Blues Guitar I suggest one of these courses. He is really great about customer service and if you choose the wrong one he'll help you get it right with a replacement. blues guitar unleashed and if you like the quality of participation in this forum, you'll love the BGU forum too.

I have both the Blues Guitar sets, and they're well laid out and fun to play. You will probably find that playing along with these will improve your bends and your phrasing.
Be careful, though. The tab is not quite correct in a number of places. In a way it's good, because the notes are correct, but the neck positions are occasionally out. These moments are actually very instructive for the learning player.

The thing about blues guitar is that once you dig into the genre you'll find there are many styles. You'd be hard pressed to master them all in one lifetime. So I'd start with defining where you want to go with your music (which artists interest you?) and then look for appropriate courses wherever they might be found. I'm not familiar with PG's tutorials but truefire (truefire.com) have a lot on offer.
