So I am looking for something that can do some background vocals for simple yet time consuming things in the studio, such as OOOh, and Ahhh...do Wops...etc.
I write and record material that require these kinds of BG vocals...
I can do them myself, but I find that everything then just sounds like me singing to myself.
I have tried the vocal harmony thing in Real Band and was less than impressed it sounded kinda fake and obviously NOT real harmonies etc.
I have tons of Choir like BG vocals but their use is limited...
So some suggestions as to what to use, get, buy, try would be appreciated.
Thanks

Check out fivrr.com. You can hire singers and tell them exactly what you want them to sing.

Wow really...ok...
So just checked it out...looks like it's unbelievably cheap...starting at $5 or $6 Canadian (as I am)...
That's insane...
Seems like it could be a good place for me to also post for my own song writing and recording business too..
Have you used it, how did you find it worked, if you did?
Thanks Keith...

If you're into keyboards, Kurzweil, Korg and Roland all have great vocal libraries in their high end synths. I know there are vocal lib's available for the big name softsynths too. Here's a live recording I did 7-8 years ago using my Kurzweil PC2X. My vocal scat keyboard solo starts at about 2:50. https://soundcloud.com/jazzmammal/04-track-4Bob
Biab/RB latest build, Win 11 Pro, Ryzen 5 5600 G, 512 Gig SSD, 16 Gigs Ram, Steinberg UR22 MkII, Roland Sonic Cell, Kurzweil PC3, Hammond SK1, Korg PA3XPro, Garritan JABB, Hypercanvas, Sampletank 3, more.

You might expect to pay a little more than a fiver depending on what you need. Fiver is the starting price, but I see that they have a great range of artists.

I've used it a couple of times with a female vocalist. I needed a bit more than oohs and ahhs and the lady I used charged extra if you wanted to publish the work so the couple of times I used her I spent about 80 bucks. She was very professional and expected me to provide a score and lyrics for what I wanted her to sing. I would have recommended a keyboard solution first but it sounded to me like that was something you already tried and found less than satisfactory.

Fiver is OK if all you need is 30 seconds of recorded vox.... by the time you get the entire song, it's closer to $80 or so..... per track. Ohhs and Ahhhs are available in KONTAKT by Native Instruments. You can hear them here, starting at 3:10 http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10977017You can also check to see if anyone has made some User Real Tracks with Ohhhs and Ahhhhs in them. I think Floyd did something like that a while back. Check with him. And , yes, you could always make your own if no one has exactly what you need. For demos and personal projects, Kontakt will be the least costly way to go unless you can get the user real tracks. The quality of the URT's will depend on the singer as well as the recording method and quality. Kontakt comes out of the box perfect.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Tony, I just googled female oohs and ahhs vsti and there are a lot listened, some were even free. You might want to try some of them.
PS - I have no experience with any of them. I use Kontakt and some third party patches.
OK, a random thought; Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who's not buying it?

I don't know if it is still available, but Spectrasonics made a vocal collection of these kinds of sounds for various synths. I know that many Roland synths offered these sounds including the JV series. Here is an example of the vocal collection used to produce a doo-[*****] cover: https://soundcloud.com/cxp-2/blue-moon

You might want to check out Realivox Ladies, which is aimed at exactly what you're asking about. For sale in July for... well, I guess a couple hours more.
