Hey,
I made a simple progression.
I selected all and manually copy and pasted it 64 times. Is there a faster way?
I note theres a setting for number of choruses, but I just wanted to extend the verse.
Then, when I changed yellow tracks to green real tracks, inexplicably 2 of the tracks don't play at all. Never saw this problem before. What happened?
thanks for help.
Ps - how do I revert back to the yellow selections?

still not able to get a guitar track to play -- either adding midi or real track.
Now Im also getting this error:
Drum Track exceeds track capacity - need to reduce number of bars in song and try again.
Huh? Is this a RAM problem?
thanks

Possibly, but there is a limit in BIAB to the number of measures (255) in one song. Could you have exceeded that?

Ps - how do I revert back to the yellow selections? A chorus is 1 complete play through of the song. Make your simple progression and then set the number of choruses. 40 Choruses is also the limit. You may have to duplicate the progression and set the chorus count to 32 Remember that there is a 255 bar limit in BiaB How did you change the yellow tracks to green tracks? By selecting a different style? What style is the song using? Simplistically, you select a MIDI style to use yellow tracks. Do that from the StylePicker.

"I selected all and manually copy and pasted it 64 times. Is there a faster way?" If you type K4 on bar 5 it will copy the last 4 bars, K8 on bar 9 last 8, K32 on bar 33 last 32 and so on..
If you open or create your song in the real band app you can have a lot more tracks and a longer song.

Hi KGU. Check out the integrated help: K Quick Copy Method By simply typing "K" at a bar (followed by Enter key), you can instantly copy the last 8 bars to the current position. By adding additional keys in the K command, you can customize this shortcut (e.g. typing K12,3 would copy from bar 3 for 12 bars to current position). The current position is advanced to the bar beyond the copy. This speeds up song entry! For example, if you're entering a song that has a repeating section of chords for 8 bars, type in the first 8 bars of chords and then move to bar 9, and then type: k <ENTER>. The last 8 bars will be copied to bar 9-16, and the cursor will be moved to bar 17, so you're ready to continue with the tune. If you get to bar 25, and would like the chords from 1-8 to be copied to 25-32, type k,1 and this will copy 8 bars from bar 1 to bar 25. The chords always get copied. The Melody, Soloist, and Lyrics also get copied if these items are set in the Copy Chords and / or Melody dialog (Edit | Copy Special | Copy From.. To..).

If you are just copying the same chord progression over and over, the easiest thing to do is to enter the chord progression one time, set the number of choruses you want to play through the progression, then unfold to one big song.

So... quick math says 64 pastes of a "simple progression" and for the sake of argument, lets assume 4 bars to the progression.... equals...according to my calculator, 256 measures or bars pasted in... exceeding by one (1) the maximum number of bars allowed by BB. This assumes no other bars in the song.
Depending on tempo, that's one long song. Most of my songs come in at around 70 to 100 bars depending on the tempo and they're all mostly between 3 to 4 minutes in length.
Got to keep the total bars under 255 in BB. You can make it much much longer in a DAW by pasting it out as far as you want. But that's another thread topic in itself.
As far as tracks not playing properly.... there's a number of different reasons and you need to be more specific about what you're doing to get the results you're getting for us to pin-point the problem.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Good points Herb
64 repeats of a 4 bar phrase would have me drifting a little before the end of the song....

Ah haaa. The old "One toke over the line" trick

If I'm reading correctly, the OP has never told us the number of measures that are repeated. Someone else used 4 as an example. This is why I suggested the 255 measure limit but could not be certain.

Matt, thanks! Yes, that's why I get frustrated when too little information/feedback is regularly offered. (You do sense my frustration, I guess)
