I've just come back to using BIAB 2014 and am enjoying getting back into it. I've always been a bit frustrated trying to find styles that fit my songs, but thankfully it looks like I'm getting better at it.

I could have sworn that PG Music historically put out new versions in the fall. I came to the site thinking v. 2017 would be available.

Am I mistaken in "remembering" a fall rollout of new versions? If I am, what is the actual rollout window for v.2017 if there is in fact a v.2017 in the works? Is there a grace period for a "free" update to 2017 if 2016 is purchased late in the cycle?

I just ordered Premiere Elements 14 a few days ago and literally the next day they came out with version 15, and of course they honored that. Talk about timing! I just want to be informed about BIAB release cyscles so I know how to plan.

Thanks for any information.

It was twice a year but when they released the Mac version it went to once a year around Dec 1st but could be earlier ?, so won't be long now.

Last couple of years it has been Dec 1 and they usually offer special pricing. Be careful about buying 2016...you will end up paying a higher price and still have to pay for the upgrade. At this point I'd wait if I were you.

Also, they have never previously announced a new release in advance. Nobody knows for sure until the release is actually available for sale.

As others have mentioned, there has not been a mid year release for several years. A new release with a date of December 1st has been repeated several times.

Will there be a 2017?

I hope so as I already have calendars for it grin grin grin

OK, a random thought;
Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who's not buying it?

64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware

I guess the answer depends on who wins the presidential election.....

In other news..... probably.... PG has been pretty reliable about getting new versions out on a yearly basis. I hope it's still 32 bit.

I was hoping they would go back to 16bit. You would not want a 32bit and 64bit, and you would not want a skinable/themeable GUI that can have the classic skin or a custom skin.

Trump in the White House, Cubs in the World Series, not sure we could handle any major changes to BIAB with all that going on. grin

Me too! By my reckoning its 7 wks to "BIAB Christmas".
Looking foward to it, as always.
I hope they dont significantly mess with the GUI again and leave the Input screen as is - BIAB is UNIQUE, dont let the "why doesn't it look or work like "X'" crowd sway you.
But I do hope that they make Stylepicker better to use.
And wouldnt it be nice if Sampletank could be made "plug and play" instead of all the faffing about to try and get it working. I never have, and Boy, have I tried.
Roll on December 1st (ish) smile
Ian
