A question for any BIAB users that are also users of Cantabile.
I have been trying to use Cantabile3, which handles the setup of my keyboards and VSTi loads, with Band-In-A-Box, but continue to have problems (the WAV in use error message) with BIAB having a conflict with the audio output when Cantabile is loaded and using the same audio output device. This does not appear to be an issue with use of ASIO or WASAPI in either software, as I believe I have tried all combinations with no success.
I am running BIAB2016 on a Win7 64bit op system. I have read in this forum that BIAB does not play well with other music software trying to share audio outputs, although when only BIAB is loaded, it works fine with no issues.
I have recently tried using a product called Voicemeeter, but with Voicemeeter loaded, I can't seem to get BIAB to recognize Voicemeeter in the BIAB MIDI/Audio options menu. In other software like Sonar and Cantabile, Voicemeeter shows as an output option, and works like a mixer to combine multiple inputs into one output (e.g. connecting a mike and a DAW to the same audio output).
If any forum member has been able to successfully use Cantabile in conjunction with BIAB, I would appreciate if you could provide some guidance.
Set BB to Voicemeeter Virtual ASIO. Set other audio app to Voicemeeter AUX Virtual ASIO. Set the Output to your main audio device.
You can also install VB Cable and set that as the default Audio Device for windows then set it as a Hardware Input in Voicemeeter, this way the green Demo button will play in the picker windows.
