I’m trying to make BIAB accent a beat like Sting/Claptons It’s probably me. If you listen to the first seconds of this, you’ll get the idea. Are these what you call triplets? Anyway, in a 4/4 style i should be able to hit the first tone by pushing the 2nd beat by 1/8th (leaving the first beat to rest). The third tone is spot on beat 3, so that’s simple. But the second tone (probably the one who makes it a triplet) cant be nailed, as far as I’m concerned I’ve tried to split the bar in two, doubling the speed of the first one, but this only messes up the Real tracks. So I could do with some assistance here. I’m sure there is a way around this.
Sorry, I was unclear about this. I meant the pattern that Clapton plays on his guitar, not the rythm section. If you split the bar in 16ns, Clapton hits the 3, 6 and 9, I guess. The 3 and 9 are no problem: the first one is a pushed second beat by 1/8. The last one is spot on beat 3. But the one in the middle ... Cant seem to nail it.
Use a DAW, let BB/RB create the backing rhythm track and use your guitar to play the "rhythm" part you are wanting.
Seriously, that's the easiest way to get something as unique as this rhythm style. This it true for many of the rock bands when you're trying to use BB to cover a song. Trying to get BB/RB to play it accurately is likely going to be an exercise in frustration.
If you don't play guitar... it's time to find a guitar playing friend in your town or on line and ask them to collaborate on the project.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.com Add nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
Thanks, Guitarhacker. Guitar is my instrument, indeed. I just hoped that by adding the chord three times in a bar I could make real tracks bass and drums follow my playing. But I guess you're right. I just have to record the guitar and let drums and bass play according to the chosen style. A bit dissapointing, though. Guress I was hoping for the impossible.
FWIW, I used to play a version of this on piano (c. 1994!). Below is how SONAR notates a couple bars of the intro riff. Not sure what part of this (if any) Clapton was playing; I wasn't even aware he played on it.

Got a link? Are you talking rhythm guitar or lead? To me it sounds like Clapton laying on the beat .. kinda like the sax does a lot .. /is that Sanborn?
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!
I still think the middle note is as depicted in my image; one 1/16th note after the second beat. The key is that they are 'laying back on the beat' (meaning late or relaxed). I do not think this would be a triplet, that's too much, more of a relaxed 1/16th .. but that's just me. I still hear it as depicted .. probably better attempted in a DAW as mentioned earlier. Better chance for success in Realband or such .. or just getting someone to play it while you record it. It is a unique (nice) feel, and not that hard to play. I don't think I'd try to generate this because of that. I'd record a few sections and assemble it if it were me. Sorry, I know it's not the answer you were hoping for, but (I think) the best path to success.

Thanks, everyone, for sharing your views on this. I'm still a novice on Biab, and so greatful for this forum. Hopefully, as I learn more, I'll be able to contribute myself. Thanks again.
