For week 43, a grooving blues shuffle: T-Boned

https://52tracksblog.com/2016/10/27/track-43-t-boned/

I used the BluTam style added a Brent Mason shuffle rhythm RT and the alto sax soloist. All RTs.

Comments appreciated.

Nice blues and a fine lyric. Was the photo the actual incident that inspired the song?

An solid blues write, Fred.

"A new transaction with each intersection
Part fate part natural selection"

Nice.

Good arrangement and mix. The sax solos are well done! You use BIAB so well - you make it seem effortless.

A music friend once told me that a sad lyric is sometimes best delivered with an upbeat production. I think this song exemplifies that notion.

floyd's lyric quote is very strong. Fate vs natural selection, indeed. One of many standout lines.

Arrangment, write and vocal are all in our wheelhouse.

We much enjoyed the listen!

PS We can only wish your productions were on SC so we could add them to our playlist.

Thanks, Peter. Happily, I chose a stock image off the Internet. The verbing of T-Bone for side crashes has intrigued me. I used it as a metaphor for life.

Thanks, Floyd. I thought you would like those lines! Not effortless. Like you, I have had to learn through trial and error what works. Arranging and recording a song a week this year has developed my skills with BIAB arranging.

Thanks, Janice and Bud. I love shuffles! When I finish up the project in December I plan to move the 52 songs plus other BIAB-arranged songs to Sound Cloud and get on BIAB Radio. I was listening to your songs yesterday and enjoying them so much. Janice's voice really gets to me and the arrangements and playing are always top-notch.

Fred,
This is almost the story of one moment in my life, in late December 1972 when I owned my first car a Hillman Imp. I had the car for only a few days when a drunk driver ran the traffic lights (stop light) in Golders Green London, he was on a red. His car bounced of my driver's door and hit at least two other cars. I woke up a day or so later in the hospital where I was training to be a Dentist but no serious lasting damage apart from broken ribs, but I was almost totally purple from the bruises I got as I was thrown out the passenger door and bounced along the road!!
The driver was eventually caught and I believed jailed

So in a way grin I really enjoyed your song, the shuffle feel was excellent, Great mix.

Wow, what a startling picture of that car crash! Jeez, I hope whoever was involved is doing OK now, or at least better than they must've been after that wreck!

Great tune too, the most world-weary lyrics often sound best over the most upbeat backing tracks... Awesome job on this one, with a great lesson, to boot! You never know what might occur smile

Floyd beat me to it again! I had copied the chorus and damned if he didn't copy the first two lines. This is really well done in every way-clever, lively, and well executed. Really like this one! Take care. Greg

Will,

T-Boned car accidents are rough. I hope the driver was okay. Thanks for the comments.
