Here's another song from the artists I'm working with. I get the songs in raw form. Him singing the song while playing acoustic guitar. And, I get a lyric chart with chords written above the words. I did this one with Band In A Box and RealBand only. Before I started using Reaper. I will probably redo it in Reaper at some point. All instruments, except for the guitar solo are BIAB RealTracks. I even used the TC Helicon Harmonizer to add some emphasis at the end of each chorus. The idea is; I make a basic arrangement of the songs, then we find and record specific musicians to replace the RealTracks and MIDI as we go. That's why you hear my for now. There is a specific vocalists intended but I haven't met him yet. https://soundcloud.com/tobias-374943716/hesreleasing4thmix20160524wav

Interesting song, very cool.
We'd like to know more about the tracks and styles that were used.

Nice song!! I think it could be shorter. The middle part, before the solo, goes on for quite a while. I like the feel of it, the arrangement, and the vocal. Well done! Take care. Greg

Greg I know what you mean about the length, long intro, long bridge, etc... This was my first composition for this particular song writer. I wanted to not change his format too much in a way to showcase to him what we can do and get him accept my work in a positive way. As you may know, changing someone else's song too much, especially lyrics, can be controversial. O I will hopefully get a redo on this one in the future. I would shorten intro, shorten bridge, etc... I even have a some lyrical recommendations, if I dare go there. I might even put in some congregational worship noises during the bridge. Maybe give it a somewhat live feel with ambient noise and big hall reverb. Make the various instruments come in and out more prominently in places.

I really like this song and what you're doing with it except it's too long. It sounds more like a live service P & W song where the middle is stretched out really long as opposed to a record.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm sure that was the writer original idea. He gave me the whole thing, which is good to do so I can see his intentions. So, I worked it pretty much as written. I have a couple of different formats on chord charts, but not recorded yet. The feedback and opinions here should help me with my persuasion to make a different version.

Enjoyed the song and message. If there is a specific vocalist intended I assume that the artist has someone in mind. Your vocals are more than satisfactory in my opinion.

I liked it. I thought the best part was the last 60 seconds, the vocal mixed with unusual instruments.

Charlie Thanks, If we decide to keep my vocal track I'll certainly redo it. I did that one sitting down with a Behringer B2 mic on a short stand on my desk top. With my 32 inch monitor screen about 16 inches behind the mic. My monitor is 4 inches from the wall behind it. I think I recorded straight through the whole song 3 - 5 times then comped together the better parts of each take. You know, the parts that are in tune the most.

But that's part of the genre. People sing the same thing over and over in large (and small) groups until it actually permeates the spirit of man and causes inward change and recognition not just outward lip service.

You are right about that. I was skeptical about getting that kind of thing going with mostly computer generated music. But, now I'm not such a skeptic about that. I am considering adding some live congregational noise to this one and see how it turns out. Try giving it an auditorium atmosphere or something. Not sure how to do that yet.
