Hi i am at present trying to build a vst as an effect to run over the top of the drum track. Now that there is midi host info this could make it possible I have run 3 copies of this in the drum vst fx slots all playing different rythms and different sounds. I am putting this out as is to see if a multi track unit with sampled sounds would be of interest to the biab comunity. PS : If i get this sorted , it will be available free to all biab users , so if theres no interest i needent carry on with it hahahaha. please let me know if it works / dosnt work / looses time or anything else cheers paul FILE: beattest.dll is 3.91 meg and used as a vst effect. available @ https://app.box.com/s/4j8wmea3wv2nz98audbosiu85ts4xklo

It works fine, in BB I loaded it in a guitar track and I can adjust the volume of the guitar without it effecting the percussion sample volume.
It would be good to have a button to load any sample.

That's really good what you have done.
I think you have the potential to make that into a full programmable drum/percussion vst.
You can have a pattern you put in for a pre fill A a pre fill for B,
another for a post fill for A post fill B, another for a 4 bar drum ending,
once you have the A-B-(E)nding marked it will know where to play the fills and ending, you could even have (F)ill to mark where to play a fill for bars other than pre post A-B,
you could load a wav for each drum/cymbal of a kit (maybe have a round robin with a few slightly different hit waves for each drum/cymbal/percussion)
If you do a SongForm Unfold you may need some more A-B B-A
Save patterns/kits that can be shared in this forum.
Maybe have a VSTi so you can render it ??
But hey, just how you have it now is great.
I was going to suggest have more patterns but I didn't want to push it, but you went ahead a did it,

Thanks for the suggestions pipeline ,
I cant seem to find out if biab transmits fill or A-B changes
hold etc anywhere midi or host ? . Got start and stop ,
am working on a way to sync with pause and play
The long term idea is to Have a multitrack perussion
vst to play along with the realtracks drums that
has round robin samples and linked to the song.
all suggestions welcome paul

Say you have set a A-B change on bar 13 in the vst then the vst should play a pre A fill on 12 and a post B fill on 13.
But I don't think there would be any A-B in the Biab midi sync info, some VST's at the moment only receive Start/Stop message from Biab and no position/pause info like ReWireVST, TemperVST and others, that should be fixed soon as they work correctly in RealBand.
You may be able to ask Peter for some info to help so you don't need to enter the A-B B-A parts.
