Hi forum laugh

I have been "using" band in a box for a couple of years. But this year i decide to purchase the audiophile version and try to get some of my songs recorded.

So I have done that througout the year and here are some of them under the band name( all me and BIAB laugh ) The Northen Dive

All the songs listed on my soundcloud account are my own

The Road
I found out that my teenage niece was drinking and doing drugs. I was upset and worried having a past with such things and so this song came about

Originally I had written this in a different style and in a open D tuning upon playing with band in a box i made the chords more basic being unable to transcribe the chords(a common theme for me), which worked in its favour.

BIAB
Medium Country Boogie w/ Pedal S
12-String Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120 with Electric Bass,
Fingerpicking Acoustic Guitar, Resonator Guitar & RockHardEven8 RealDrums.
Drums: hi-hat in A, ride in B. (El.Bass, Ac.Guitar, 12Str.Guit, Res.Guitar,
Drums=RockHardEven8^1-HiHat,Ride)
Reverb(reaper)
mixed in reaper

Radio Silence

Who knows. I was dealing with depression and anxiety and a lot of lonlieness. Being ignored by a particular person(radio silence) was a big part of this

BIAB info
Slow Country Ballad w/ Pedal Steel

Bass, Electric Country EV065
Drums NashvilleEven16^5-hihat,ride
Pedal steel, background ev065
Reverb - DP-03sd

Exported to wave and mixed with tascam dp-03sd

Hello r.

Welcome to the Showcase.

Before you updated your post, I sampled several of your songs. It is an interesting variety...

Commenting on songs in the forum can take a good deal of time - so it is best to do one at a time.

So... regarding: The Road... a really cool sound to this overall... nice use of BIAB.... a very cool vocal. But, it is a bit hard to hear the lyric...which can be okay overall for a song like this, but you might want to include a lyric so we can follow along... or make the vocal a bit "crisper" so it is easier to understand the words.

I did enjoy the sound and feel of this...

Can you add lyric to soundcloud?

wow thanks laugh

Can lyrics be added to soundcloud?

Anyway...

The Road

Down that road- way too many times
Ive been on that road- way too long
For some there is no escape
Im so afriad
For you little one

They say that road- is oh so attractive
Its all flouresncet lights- thay lie to your eyes
You'll learn to love the need
For the drink and the drugs
They'll light your way through the nights

Now that i am clean- of what can been seen
Honey you should see- The dirt on the inside
If I could scrub the slate clean
And show you don't have to be afraid
To live alone

Welcome!! Some nice work here. The songs are very personal and emotional. You've done a nice job with the arrangements, and vocals are effective (I would add a little verb). Good stuff! Keep posting. Take care. Greg

Welcome to the forum. Very cool song. My Guitar Doesn't Gently weep. had the feel of a Pink Floyd tune. Well done

Welcome,
I enjoyed listening to several of your songs - there`s an uncompromising intensity for sure and the lyrics are powerful.
I hear some Morrissey in your vocal style - a good thing to these ears.
I agree with Floyd that your vocals sound a little far back on this track.

Welcome and we agree with all of the above. The general practice here is to let a song run it's "comment course" before posting another. It will give the commenters more time to reflect on the song.

Just add your lyric here (as you did) or to the "description" section of Soundcloud which you can get to by clicking on the edit button which is a little "pen" icon.

Nice first post!

Lyric

I wish you were here but im sure you cant hear me
You're transfixed in a place where your loved ones hold you dear
They say thats all you left behind of your physical form
But some they say you're listening and somewhere you're playing guitar

With the angels that sing irish rebel songs
And jesus is on the drums
God looks upon you with a smile
I cant say i am amused
Cause' he took you so young
With so much left undone

I wish you was here cause I need some advice
Everything seems to be against me since you went away
We all have our demons we need to overcome
I hope when you went to the earth you left your demons behind

Do the angels sing irish rebel songs
Is Jesus pounding the hell out of the drums
Does your guitar reverberate across the heavens
Well I don't feel all that amused
Cause he took you so young

I'll defend your honour with words
Like a knight with sword
A dragon that i will slay
That dares to breathe ill of your past

Those that speak ill of your past
are speaking ill of my dead
I miss you

Very melancholy lyrics. Felt allot of emotion in the words.

As Janice and Bud said best to post each song separately and when it looks like the comments are done i.e. pushed to second or third page then post another. Will give everyone a chance to hear the song and it won't disappear as fast. Again welcome to the forum. Good bunch here. Lots of help available here. Make the most of BIAB.
