Hi, I am a Powertracks 14 user with a Focusrite Scarlet 6i6. The Scarlet is configured with the powertracks mix going to output 1 and 2. Does anyone know how to set up Powertracks so I could isolate 1 track (drums) to outputs 3 and 4 on the scarlet?
With the 6i6 this should be able to be done with a combination of the Output Ports selected for the tracks in PT and the mixer routing in the Focusrite mixer.
Route the drums to a separate Port from everything else (right-click and select Port).
You may have to enable the outputs first using Audio-Prefs- Drivers Button. This enables various Ports, then you can assign a given track to an available Port using the right-click - Port option.
Keep in mind, once multiple ports are enabled you can also take advantage of them using the lower right hand setion of the mixer .. so you can send multiple tracks to a separate audio port and control the volume of these using the assigned slider in the lower right section of the mixer. (Normally used for Subgroups but can also be assigned to physical Audio Output Ports).
I see you are from Troy. I used to be in Troy quite often. May be starting that again soon (we have a location there where I work, sometimes they need me there). Don't really want to drive there much this time of year though; it's brutal cold tonight!
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!
When I right click on a track and go to port I get: Scarlett 6i6 usb, then, Microsoft GS waveable synth 15 times. Next in the column MT power drumkit 3 times. Next DXI / vsti synth 4 thru 15 then, Coyote WT (default) I can't find any way to edit or select outputs by track. When you go prefs and select drivers you can select outputs for the entire song, I want to do it on a track by track basis . Any ideas?
so it's MT PowerDrums you want to send on the midi track ?
In your ASIO Input/Output you have all selected ?
I think I used http://www.solidsoundstudio.net/ loaded it in the Midi track in FX and set it to "send" after that I loaded a vst with a volume and turned it right down so it will mute any audio out after the Aux Bus.dll being sent to 1-2. EDIT: Aux-Bus-Set.zip On A2 AUX bus FX I loaded the Aux Bus.dll and set it to "receive".
How I'd do it (mainly because for some users, and in many instances it is a little easier, and in the long run may save time);
Click the desired MIDI Track in the Tracks view (anywhere on the data section) Use CTRL+A to Select All (in other words to highlight the whole track) .. this can also be done in Right-click menu by selecting 'Select Whole Track'.. Once the desired Tack/Selection is set; Click the Solo button (the 'S' icon) Click Render in the top menu Select Merge Audio and DXi to Stereo wave file (remember it is solo'd now so only the MT drums will merge to the new audio (Wav) file)
Now Import the new audio track to a new blank track. Highlight a new blank track Select Edit-Audio-Import Wave File Navigate to the saved file and click OK Now you have the MT drums as an audio track instead of MIDI
Audio Routing is much easier. Right-click the resulting 'Audio' track and assigning it to the desired Audio Port just works easier here.
It was a lot to type out and probably took me longer than the actual process, once you know it. /you could also right-click and use AutoConvert MIDI track to Audio Track. //I knew they was a quicker way but couldn't think of the click path at the time

In the images, I have enabled multiple ASIO Outputs, two sets of stereo. Then these are used in the mixer for output. The rest of the bottom right sliders will be subgroups. If not check your Audio Prefs for a check box called 'Assign unused outputs as subgroups' (or close).
If you do see something similar to this you should be able to right-click any track and assign it to the other Audio output using the Port option (last image). Assign it to Port 2 and it will go to the other output. Then you can control it with the A2 slider and hear it on the other Focusrite channels.
I couldn't use my Focusrite as an example because it is the 2i2, so I don't have multiple outs to select.

Thanks rharv and Pipeline. OK, I got it to work with audio tracks. Doesn't Audio use a lot of memory? At present we have over 130 songs and some saved multiple times. rharv, my screen looks like yours but the Focusrite is selected. Is this method for midi? I am heading to the studio to try both of these out. Thanks again guys!
If the pic above is not animating, right click "Full Screen" and Save Link/Target As then open it.
On your MT Drummer Midi Track after MT Drummer in FX load Aux Bus.dll turn up and set to "Send" then after Aux Bus.dll load GFader.dll and turn it right down
on the Mixer A2 output FX slot load Aux Bus.dll turn up and set to "Receive"
This will send the live audio from the MT Drummer midi track to A2 3-4 line output of your sound device.
