Hi

I have no problem auditioning styles etc. in Band in a Box. But for some reason, in Real Band nothing happens when I click on the Green Play Button to audition Real Tracks or Styles. I have tried clicking on and off the Band Setting and the Use Internet setting but still no luck.

Also, I downloaded all the 2017 files and the latest from 2016 and installed these again. There were no errors during installation.

It's strange that I do not have this problem in Band in a Box.

All files for BIAB are on located in bb on my C:/ drive.

Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

It works fine for me, although I haven't loaded the latest 2017 patch yet. One odd thing I did notice though was the 'quick-play' (green button)played through my headphones, yet when I loaded and played the demo it played through my speakers. That's probably down to a setting somewhere but maybe what is happening to your set-up.

Just a thought.

I'm using Win 10, just in case that makes a difference.

Hi Paul. I know this probably sounds over simplified but if you click on the small speaker at the opposite end to the bar where your green arrow is.......is the volume slider up or down? (Forgive me if you already checked that but if it's down or "off" it would stop you from hearing either speakers or headphones and could explain why you can hear demos in BIAB but not RB if that setting is "on" in BIAB).

If not........ it's one more item to cross off your list of possibilities smile

Good luck.

Hi Kev,

Thanks for the tip but that's not the problem. I checked the speaker button and it's on and set to highest volume.

My problem is that the files completely refuse to play. When I press the play button, the slider does not move (it usually travels from left to right as the file plays). I may as well press my nose.

Hope someone can help because it's driving me mad.

Thanks again,

Paul

Hi Pipeline,

Thank you so much! No, I hadn't checked those posts until now. Turning of ASIO worked. But it's weird that after I did it, a window appeared stating that ASIO must be on at all times??? Anyway, it's off now and working fine for previews.

Maybe I'm not understanding this (highly likely) but that seems to me that turning ASIO on actually disabled the play button. Does that make sense, or is it just me?

I notice a weird (unexpected) result in some features of PGMusic apps, and this is just my observation from personal experience, on my systems and those I've observed.

For the main use of RB/PT the driver selection (in Prefs) is critical.
Then an occasional feature uses the default system setting regardless of the above RB/PT selections.
Some preview items, some metronome items, etc, seem to use whatever Windows is using even if RB/PT is set to use a different configuration.

For me, opening the Windows mixer and seeing exactly where the sound is being routed sometimes helps decipher it. Other times the sound card mixer itself finds it quicker (they can be very different views).

Something to investigate.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
