Anyone know the trick of getting this to work?
It works if I start a new song and put in a couple of notes.
However, won't work on existing midi tracks, says there are none while I'm looking at them.
There is no reference to this function (that I can find in HELP).
Does it work for anyone?

It worked for me (2017 build 3).

All I did was select the track and then run the option.

It could be that the midi file you tried it on doesn't meet any notes with the criteria defined in the programming.

The notes need to be of the same pitch, side by side and almost overlapping (or overlapping presumably). In those cases, the two notes are replaced with a single note.

Thanks Noel,
Yes, Build 3 here.
Notes the same Pitch Quantized 100%, "Eyeballed in Piano Roll" - Still no good?

Quantizing could work in either direction. Depending on which way is closest to the nearest full note value.

I just tried a midi track and quantized it 100% and then ran the "lengthen note" option and it still worked. I guess it depends on how the programming defines "Almost overlapping". It might be that the 1/16th or 1/32 options available in quantizing are not close enough together.

Maybe one of PG Music's technical staff will see this and be able to help. You could try sending an email to Support and asking. If you do, send the URL of this thread, too.

Thanks Noel,
I'll try it with the next song I do from "scratch" and if it still persists I'll check with support.

OK, tried it on new and existing songs this is what happens on my end.
Lengthen notes of same pitches only works on notes 1/4 & above duration (Whole, Half,1/4, wholes across measures etc.) it does not work on 1/8, 1/16 etc?
I've notified PG Support to see if it's me or Realband.

Not sure what you guys are talking about.

All you want to do is extend some midi notes, correct? Go into the Piano Roll, find the note, put the mouse on the right edge of it and just drag it as far as you want. If you put the mouse in the middle of the note you can move it too. Put the mouse on the left side and you can extend it that way. If you click on the Help button in the Piano Roll window you can read all about the cool things you can do in there.

Bob,
I think the OP wants to do it programmatically in one pass, not note by note manually.
One may take much longer.
The Data Filter check box during an edit like this can usually work somehow to control data edits, but for this particular purpose I couldn't figure out a quick click path to suggest.

I tried it; I thought I would be able to instinctively do it .. but I couldn't.

Eliminate Overlap does the exact opposite.
Maybe someone can figure out how the Data Filter settings may help. (?)
My gut says any path to joy is in the Data Filter ...

Realband has a feature that supposedly does it for you.
However, it is not fully functional only works on note 1/4 duration and above.

From your description "Lengthen notes of same pitches only works on notes ... " I assume the 'Edit - MIDI - Lengthen notes of same pitches' path was used.

When clicking the above I get the message in the image below.
I thought you wanted to lengthen the actual individual event if it fits a certain filter/criteria, not combine them if they are close (as described in the image).

This may be working for you because you have notes within a quarter note of each other more often than an eighth, if the message is accurate. Just a guess. Keep us posted on what support says.
Send them this thread.

I'm going to use this feature next time. If it works. I did not know about this. I have been doing to single note stretch in the piano roll editor which can take several boring carpal tunnel mouse hours.

Does the noise in your head bother me ?
