Hallo zusammen,
ich habe die BIAB 2016 Mac Version auf meinem Rechner und die BIAB App auf meinem iPhone.
Bei der Übertragung der Files auf das iPhone habe ich Probleme.
Ich kann über die Dropbox MGU und SG4 in die BIAB App übertragen. Wenn ich sie dann abspielen möchte, ist der "Play" Button rot eingefärbt. Wenn ich ihn drücke, will BIAB eine Server IP von mir. Gebe ich die IP meines Rechners ein versucht das Programm sich vergeblich mit meinem Rechner zu verbinden.
Wofür brauche ich die Verbindung eigentlich, wenn ich die Daten schon mit Dropbox eingegeben habe?
Wie kann ich das, was ja anscheinend erforderlich ist, auf anderem Wege übertragen.

Hallo Jovo,
die App dient ausschließlich der "Fernsteuerung" mit anschließender Übertragung der generierten Audiofiles der Desktop-Installation von Band In a Box ans Mobilgerät. Die werden dann dort abgespielt. Die MGU oder SG4 Dateien beinhalten lediglich die Songinformationen (Akkordfolge etc.).
Du benötigst aber den Zugriff zum "Hauptprogramm", das aus den Songinformationen dann hörbare Musik generiert. Dieser Zugriff geschieht über den Server über dessen IP-Adresse. Dafür sollten sich Dein Smartphone und der Mac im selben Netz befinden.
Die App selbst ist natürlich kein vollständiges Band In a Box Programm. Das würde, schon aus Speichergründen (bedenke die unzähligen GBytes Realtracks) gar nicht funktionieren.

vielen Dank für die Antwort.
Ich kann sie leider so nicht nachvollziehen. In der App sind als ´stand-alone´zwei Beispiel Stücke gespeichert, die ohne Verbindung zum Programm laufen.
Und irgendwie ist es mir gelungen, eine Datei zu übertragen, die auch ohne den Kontakt zum Rechner / Server autonom spielt. Ich weiss nur nicht mehr bei dem unendlichen Probieren, was ich genau (welche Datei Art) ich wie auf das iPhone gebracht habe. (Dropbox, über den Mac). Ich bekomme Kontakt mit dem Ihphone auf meinem Mac, wenn ich in meinen Browser die auf dem iPhone angegebene Adresse 192.168.178.64 eingebe. Dann kann ich Dateien hochladen, leider aber nicht abspielen. Wie gesagt bei einem Stück ging es, ich weiss aber beim besten Willen nicht wie.

So, ich glaube ich habe es jetzt verstanden.
Es gibt zwei unterschiedliche Apps. Einmal Band-in-a-box und einmal BB Remote. BB Remote ist, wie Brille geschrieben hat, eine "Fernsteuerung" für BIAB-Windows.
´ Band-in-a-box´ ist ein Programm, das unabhängig von einem laufenden Mac / Windows Programm nach Übertragung der Stücke spielt. Für die Übertragung muss ich für ein Stück 2 Dateien hochladen (Dropbox, direkt über PC / Mac oder als Email-Anhang).
Die Dateien sind eine .MGU Datei des Stückes und eine .m4a Datei. Beide können von BIAB generiert werden.
Erst wenn beide zusammen hochgeladen sind, kann ich das Stück über das iPhone abspielen.
Vielen Dank an alle, die an dem Problem überlegt haben.

Hallo jovo, um noch etwas mehr Licht reinzubringen: es gibt für Apple und für Android jeweils zwei Apps von PGMusic, die "RBRemote"-App und die "Band-in-a-Box"-App. RB Remote erlaubt dir (mal vereinfacht gesagt) die "Fernbedienung" von RealBand, die BiaB-App die "Fernbedienung" der Desktop-Version von Band In a Box. Beide Apps kommunizieren mit dem Apple (bzw. bei Windows mit dem PC) über ein weiteres Programm, dem Band-in-a-Box-Server, der zusätzlich auf dem Rechner installiert werden muss. Hallo Guten Tag
Ich bin ein absoluter Frischling hier.
Habe Hilfe notwendig.
Kann man als Gitarrist der ich bin, ein normales Midifile
( Lacht mich nicht aus-Schlagermusik ) in BAND IN A BOX rein tun, und dann kann man verschiedene Sounds/Rhythmen daraus auswählen ?
In welchem Sound wird das wiedergegeben ?

Herzlich willkommen im Forum ... und hier lacht dich natürlich niemand aus!
Das Konzept von Band in a Box setzt (stark vereinfacht gesagt) auf eine Abfolge von Akkorden, über der dann eine Melodie liegen kann. Also z.B. zwei Takte Cmaj, dann ein Takt F7, dann 1 Takt Cmaj und so weiter. Je nach gewählten "Style" erzeugt Band in a Box dann mit passenden Begleitinstrumenten (Drums, Bass, Gitarre, KLavier oder was auch immer) ein fertiges Arrangement, das du dann anhören kannst und natürlich weiter verändern.
Ein MIDI-File besteht aus einer oder mehreren Instrumentenspuren, typischerweise enthält eine Spur auch die Melodie. Die Changes, die Akkorde eines Stückes (also zum Beispiel G7 oder C-moll7b5), sind nicht als Bezeichnungen in der MIDI-Datei enthalten.
In Band in a Box kannst du nun auch eine Midi-Datei importieren, und zwar sowohl die Melodiespur als ggf. auch weitere Spuren. Wenn du nur die Melodiespur importierst, musst du dann im Programm selbst die Akkordbezeichungen passend ergänzen. Band in a Box kann auch aus dem Midi-File anhand der verschiedenen Midi-Spuren automatisch die Akkorde ermitteln, dass ist nicht immer sehr genau, bei einfachen Pop-Akkorden funktioniert das aber oft ganz gut.
Band in a Box ist allerdings ein recht vielseitiges Programm und vieles erschließt sich zugegebener Weise am Anfang nicht immer einfach. Ich kann dich nur ermutigen, dran zu bleiben, das Programm entwickelt sich mit jedem Mal, mit dem du damit arbeitest, weiter zu einem wahren musikalischen Multitool.
