Hello everyone,
I just started experimenting with loop files and decided to create a new stereo loop file using two of the mono loop files that came with BIAB/Realband.

I picked two loop files and brought them into separate tracks within Realband. I panned one track left and the other track right then rendered using 'Merge Audio and VXTi/DXi tracks to stereo wave file' I then imported the rendered stereo wave file into Realband into a stereo audio track and listened to the track and could hear and see the stereo separation within that imported track.

Now with the single stereo file within Realband, I selected 'Render/Export Acid Loop' and saved it to the default loop folder.

Everything seems great, file is generated and shows up in the loop folder. If I now try to bring this loop into a stereo track within Realband by selecting 'Generate/Select and Generate Loops' the file is generated but only as a mono track.

Perhaps I am doing this all wrong and someone may be able to point out the error of my ways in trying to make a stereo loop.

Thank you in advance!

Del,

Thank you for giving such a detailed description. I was able to follow your directions exactly and I managed to reproduce what you describe.

Unfortunately I do not know enough about loops to know whether or not stereo audio is supported. I've advised Support at PG Music about this and referred them to this thread of yours.

Regards,
Noel

Hello Noel,
Thanks for your quick reply and for verifying this result. Perhaps it is a limitation within the software for creating loops as you suggest.

I reviewed the BIAB and Realband manuals and also searched the forum before I posted and could not find a remedy. A quick search on the Internet said there are stereo Acid loops but I didn't verify that.

Thanks again,

More testing today with several different stereo loop tracks seems to indicate that any loop brought into Realband using 'Generate/Select and Generate Loops' results in a mono loop track being generated.

The same stereo loop files brought in as 'Import Wave File' results in a stereo track in Realband.

I don't know if this is the way it has always been or if it is a new problem.
