What version of BIAB? Did you buy the package that includes tutorials? Otherwise I think you can order the Tutorials from PG. But, you will probably find what you need for free on YouTube.
Behringer makes nine U-Phoria Audio Interface models. There is the UMC202HD, UMC404HD, UM2, UMC204HD, UMC22, UMC1820, UMC204, UMC404 and UMC202. Which model do you have? Does the interface use USB or Firewire to connect to the computer?
Is your Windows 10 computer a desktop, laptop or tablet? How much random memory (ram) does the computer have? How many USB and / or Firewire ports does your computer have?
What Band-in-a-Box package (Pro, Mega, UltraPlus, Everything or Audiophile) did (or will) you purchase? Do you want to run the Band-in-a-Box and RealBand programs from an external hard drive, the internal computer hard drive or a combination of both hard drives?
Are you going to use the computer just for recording or will you also use it for other tasks? If the computer will do other tasks consider setting the computer up with multiple boot up options. You can specify a "music" boot up option and turn off start up background options you don't want like wi-fi, anti-virus, network connection and so on. This should actually be simple.
Load the software and drivers supplied by the manufacturer for the Windows 10 OS.
Connect the interface. You might need to set up the interface input and output levels depending on the manufacturer.
Open the program you are wanting to use the interface with and go to preferences for AUDIO and MIDI and set the interface as the default sound card.
It should now be ready to go. Maybe a few tweeks after the fact but it should be ready to play.

well, it probably is 'simple' if you're a musician who hunkers down and uses only BandInABox...but here's what i might try to do in an afternoon:
1. listen to/watch a song on YouTube, 2. buy the canonical version from iTunes, 3. check out the song’s changes on iReal, 4. lay out the chords in BIAB, 5. export the midi tracks to Reaper, 6. record my voice in Reaper, 7. render a .mp3 file for my website.
obviously it would be great win10 OS could handle these video/audio tasks seamlessly (maybe macOS does?); barring that, is there a program that would enable me to help the computer do that?
Using a keyboard is not my strongest area of expertise, but in your diagram the Behringer interface, whichever one it is, is also a mixer. I would eliminate the Yamaha mixer in your setup.

I saw your diagram. That's a very reasonable setup and very close to my setup as well.
Your setup is very similar to mine in that everything revolves around the interface. The biggest difference is that I don't use a mixer.
The whole key here is to get that interface working properly. Once you get that, everything else will iron itself out. Once you get the proper driver (ASIO) working with the interface and the OS, your musical tasks should be seamless and without hiccups. The big question, and I may have missed this in the other posts, is.... Is that interface compatible with the Windows 10 OS and the computer? Serious question because, having been in digital recording for many years, I have had gear become obsolete literally after I did an OS upgrade because the driver "kinda worked" with the new OS but not in a seamless manner like it did on the same computer with the older OS. So check the interface and make sure 100% that it, and it's drivers are 100% compatible and will function with W-10.
To assume that I only use BB would be a mistake. I use Band in a Box, Real band, and Sonar. I've used this setup for over a decade on a dedicated DAW that runs rock solid. My interface is a Focusrite FW Saffire. I have migrated this interface across a few computers from a Dell off the shelf lappy to the custom build DAW I currently use in my studio.
Everything comes back to the interface and it's driver. Be sure those are compatible with the OS. I also assume you're not upgrading an older relic of a computer from say Millenium to W-10 because you might also have hardware issues as well with older machines.

My focusrite has a very low audio out for it's headphone jack so a headphone amp might be in order. I used to use an old stereo system amp. I ran the outputs (my Saffire has 8 outputs) into the stereo and used my cans off of that. However, I had a singer come in to do some recording and needed at least 2 headphone outputs with independent volume controls. The Behringer headphone amp gave me 4 outputs and the ability to crank the levels as needed.

Concerning headphone amps (personal experience) We use multiple Behringer Powerplay Pro-8 headphone amps and have had zero issues for many years. Just sayin' They've been well worth the investment(s). They have many routing options, especially if you have multiple sound card outs to feed it and such. And they have always 'just worked' as expected.
I can see one of them from here that is 10+ years old and is currently powered 'on' (as usual). It just keeps on working. Herb's response made me think about this. I'd be willing to wager that his Behringer headphone amp has some years on it too.

the Focusrite also delivers sufficient sound to my (discontinued) AKG K44 headphones.

Indeed. Not all interfaces are created equal. We had issues like this all the time in the Sonar help forums. People would go out and buy their interfaces based on looks and price rather than audio specifications. Then they would come to us and complain that they couldn't get things to work smoothly. We knew as soon as they told us the interface/card brand and model.
Glad you found this out early and acted on the advice given. Also good to hear that Focusrite, apparently, has bumped up their headphone output levels a bit.
