Hi all I am learning how to play the guitar and have run into a bit of a problem. I need some help.
My question is, Is there any way to play my computer biab back tracks and my guitar through headphones so i can practice quietly, but still be able to adjust the way my guitar sounds? I will be going to guitar center in the morning so a fast response would be very helpful.
Thanks
bobby

Take a look at Guitar Port by Line 6. Guitar center has it.
The software "Gear Box" comes with it.

The one thing that you will need to do is to make sure that the Guitar Port will work as an input device for the audio out of the computer.

Mostly what I would recommend would be a small mixer. Take the outputs of your computer, if you are using a software synth like the Roland VSC DXi and the run them into the mixer.

A device like the Guitar Port could be hooked up to your guitar, and then the outputs of that could be fed to the mixer, and then plug in to the mixer.

This is the GuitarPort link: http://line6.com/guitarport/index.html

This is a great mixer available at Guitar Center: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Behringer-EURORACK-UB802-Mixer-102331477-i1153481.gc

Both of those together should do what you need it to do.

The Guitar port is a USB device that your guitar plugs into and it has connections for speakers and a head set. It works great as the audio output for my computer. The Mixer is a good one but you probably will not need it.
