Hello everyone!
Can we move "part" of Melody track to Soloist track? I just want to copy and move part of it while keeping other part in Melody track. Can anyone guide me how to do this? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums. What are you wanting to copy? Is it a Realtrack or is it a MIDI track? If it is a MIDI track, the writing for the Melody track's name will be yellow and if it's a Realtrack, the writing will be green. Also, what version of BIAB do you have (e.g. 2015) and is it Windows or Mac? Regards, Noel

I'm currently working on a MIDI track using Band-in-Box Pro 2017, Windows 10.
I use Melodist feature to generate a Melody track.
I wanted to copy/move just some part of Melody track to Soloist track. Is it possible to do this?

The simplest way might be to copy it all, then delete what you don't want

Hi again, I agree with Dave, while there are a few of ways to do what you want, depending on how much you want to copy, the easiest is probably to copy the whole track and then delete those bits that are not needed. Alternatively, you could use F5 (Windows version of BIAB) and mute the sections of Soloist track that you don't need playing the melody (this is definitely the simplest approach). If you choose to delete notes, the Piano Roll view would be the easiest and quickest way to do this. There are a couple of ways to do this (maybe more).
1. In the "Melody" menu item, select "Edit Melody Track", then "Copy to Soloist Track". This will copy the entire melody track to the soloist track. Once that is done you have two options. You can either edit each of the tracks (using piano roll or note roll) and delete the solo notes from the melody track, then delete the melody notes from the solo track. Or, you can use the bar settings feature to selectively mute and unmute bars in the melody and soloist tracks.
2. You could also export your song to MIDI, then using "Soloist" -> "Edit Soloist Track" -> "Import to Soloist Part from MIDI file", you can select the bar range you want to import (you'll have to know how many bars into the song and then how long the solo is).
