i have biab 2013 (MAC) ver. in addition to the mac, i have 3 pc's (win 10, win 7) none of which will "see" the biab HD whenever i plug it in. bought the product in late 2013 and it worked fine up until nov '16 when i moved to my current add - my studio was dismantled and the HD unplugged from the MAC for approx 7 months. whenever i set up my studio (05/2017) and installed the HD to the mac i noticed the prob. the pc's don't recognize it either.
anyone out there ever had this issue. at my wits end. any ideas or help greatly app.

Fivestring,
There is a lot of failure possibilities including: hard drive disconnected from the IDE connector inside the external hard drive case, hard drive is bad, IDE to USB board in the hard drive case is bad, defective cabling, not enough power is being delivered to the hard drive case for the hard drive to work and bad USB ports.
From your post I assume you've tried the external hard drive on multiple USB ports and computers, is that correct?
Are you plugging in the external hard drive cable hot, while the computer is powered up? Have you tried connecting the cable and then powering up the computer?
Does the external hard drive LED ever light up? When or if it does, does the LED flicker or stay on solid?

All the above information provided by Fivestring is valid.
If the Mac Band in a Box worked before it should still work now unless you dropped it which can do some catastrophic damage.
You have not told us what iMac or Operating System.
However, try the following:
If you have any external HD's ( other than the Mac Band HD ) disconnect them whereby only your Mac computer is in control plus the external Mac Band HD plugged in..
Leave your Mac Band in a Box HD plugged in.
Reboot.
Launch Apple's Disk Utility and do a permissions repair of your Mac computer.
Reboot and your Mac Band HD should show up.

TO JIM FOGLE AND JOURNEYMAN
first of all, my app for not replying sooner - no excuses offered. tks so much for your reply. here is some additional input that wasn't included in my initial post: 1 Mac OS - yosemite 2 model is Mac Mini 3 have tried HD on different ports and pc's as well as the mac 4 have plugged in HD hot and also while mac is shut down - rebooted but with no luck 5 the LED light is on solid while the HD is plugged in 6 open apple utility disk and ran permissions repair. no luck but i did see the BIAB Hd (as well as the mac HD) when i open the utility disk 7 when i look at the "devices" showing on the mac HD, i see only 2: Roger's mac mini remote disk ( opening this doesn't accomp anything) 8 i have the mac cd burner - it's plugged in works well but doesn't show up under "devices" 9 when i plug in a memory stick, it shows up on my desk top as well as under "devices" hope U can figure out something from the above. any help greatly app

"i have 3 pc's (win 10, win 7) none of which will "see" the biab HD whenever i plug it in." You need an hfs+ driver for windows https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/apple-hfs-windows-driver-download.1368010/Click on the main User iMac icon under Devices in Finder and see if it's showing in there as it may not be set to show in Finder Preferences Sidebar Devices External Disks.

Fivestring, 5 the LED light is on solid while the HD is plugged in A solid LED on the external hard drive enclosure indicates the enclosure is receiving power but the electronics board does not recognize a hard drive is attached. The problem is either a bad enclosure circuit board or hard drive. At this point, I would be communicating with PG Music support and asking what is the replacement policy.

many tks 4 reply - have already contacted PG music - the unit is long out of warranty and they want $30. +, it'll cost me another $45 to get it through customs. one other thing - i have a biab hd for windows - plugged it in to the mac and the mac "sees" it. so, i gues this pretty well indicates the biab (mac) hd is bad. right ?
