Terrific groove and cool lyrics.
The back track is very nicely layered ( love the
harp & B3 together!).
Your vocal has an interesting treatment and echo: I`d be interested in how it was achieved.

Thanks Scott and Robert. The vocal is radically filtered top and bottom for a telephone-like effect. There's a bit of distortion and widening on there too. The echoes are a throw delay automated to emphasise certain words in the song. It took me a while to get the sound I wanted but ultimately was easily achieved with Waves CLA Effects plugin.

Cheers Rob and Alan. Yeah a fair bit of experimentation for this production. I found four wahs from the same family amongst the Realtracks and used them all. The most melodic I saved for the instrumental choruses. I considered other lead options but thought nah keep it funky from head to toe.

Oh yeah, we love it when a forum regular takes you to a new music place.
The vocal effects and wahs are both creative and effective.
And the dark lyric is great.
