Hi Gang:

I'm still mining this tune hoping to find silver or gold. If you have a moment, give it a listen.

Caution: Doing a Happy Dance in a confined space may be hazardous to your health! =D

All the best,
Dave

Dave,

This is great! Infectious beat and a very cool, almost falsetto on "dance" - excellent!

I'm getting kind of a Genesis vibe from this - great job!

Nice Tune Dave, I kind of get a mix of Joe Walsh and Tom Petty on your vocal style on this one.

Love the keys your using on this as well.

Hey Bob:

Good to hear from you again! One of my friends, upon hearing this song said that it was obvious the song was made on the night shift with no Supervisors present! =D

The "Almost falsetto" on Dance was more of a funny sacrifice because of the key, I couldn't get that high on the note! =D

Regarding Genesis, I'm 70 years old! I steal from every body!!! LOL!!!

Thanks again,
Dave

Hey sslechta;

Thanks for your input! I really appreciate your Walsh, Petty reference. I grew up on these guys so if you hear them in my vocals, it's only my unconscious tribute to them and others. Like I told another member: I'm 70 years old so I've stole from every one! =D

The "keys" started out by accident because one of my fingers got caught on a key when I was sliding it down. It sounded different so I kept it and built the song around it. Be careful because it will get stuck in your head!!! =D

Thanks again, all the best,
Dave

With a little nod to Jerome Kern, I won't dance. Don't ask me.

Tune is good, even though I won't dance. Don't ask me.

Little Joe Walsh feel in the vocals, nice driving rhythm.

Hi eddie1261;

Thanks for your input! Jerome Kern? That takes me back! Thanks again for the Joe Walsh reference it was very kind. I wasn't trying but it just came out that way. I'm 70, therefore I've practically stolen from everyone!!! =D

Regarding dancing: What you do in the privacy of your home is your own business!!! LOL!

Thanks again, all the best,

Dave

That was a fun song.

Very much a Joe Walsh vibe, in a good way.

Dave, I think you hit gold so do your happy dance.

Great sound and groove!

OK, a random thought;

Hey dcuny!

Thanks for your kind comments! It IS a fun song! I still have to move around whenever I hear it! One friend said this song sounds like a prison break with the cons setting the place on fire! =D

OK It appears to be unanimous; Joe Walsh wins! I made no attempt to sound like him, it just came out that way. But hey, I 70, so I've stolen from every body!!! LOL!!!

Thanks again,
Dave

What's Doing old Friend?=D

Long time no hear! I totally agree with you about hitting gold on this one I even hurt my ankle a bit doing that Happy Dance!

We received 6 inches of snow in NC today. I wrote this song over the weekend. I'd like you to hear it! "Winter's Song"

This is a very beautiful song with some interesting chord progressions.

Only 6" of snow? We got 16" of snow in one night! We are on a roller coaster temperature ride up here. Zero to mid twenties with snow for a couple of days then a few days in the 40s and 50s, then repeat! Thank God that I have a snowblower!
