Is there a way to have the DX effects be heard in real time when recording audio in BB?

Hi Tony,
Band-in-a-Box doesn't provide input monitoring (this is handled by your audio interface), so this can't be done, sorry.
RealBand can do it though. You'll have to be using an ASIO audio driver (or WAS if you're using 2018), and have "Enable Input Monitoring" checked in the Audio tab of Preferences.
Then in the DirectX/VST Window, choose "Input Monitor Insert" in the Track drop-down menu, and any plugins you select will be heard in your headphones or speakers while you record.

I have the ability to do input monitoring and is set up in my Focusrite Pro 40 interface the issue I am having is hearing the effects in real time that are added via DX in BB. The effects work during playback but not in real time when recording.
I am using ASIO drivers BTW.

In RB I was able to do the first part of the setup however this second part I was not able to find..."Input Monitor Insert"

Hi Tony,
Exactly, the Focusrite's input monitoring doesn't go through the computer at all, so VSTs can't be applied to it.
In RealBand, hit the "VST/DX Plugins/Effects" button, and the DirectX/VST Window will appear. If you click on the drop-down menu marked "Track" and scroll down, Input Monitor Insert will be at the bottom of the list.
You'll want to turn off Input Monitoring on the Focusrite, so you don't hear an echo.
