My song is set to start at 1, to end at 104, with 1 chorus. I wish to mute the drum track for the first 8 bars but I can't figure out how to do this. I tried the Edit Settings for those bars (F5) & selected Muted for Dums but it does not work.
Also, I note that Bar 1 marker shows "1a" and if I click it it goes to "1b" but I want just the one with no "a" or "b" to get a simpler feel for the intro; why am I not allowed to do it? Tks.

I'm not sure why F5 mute didn't work; it should. What version of BIAB do you have, and is it Windows or Mac?
As to the 1a or 1b question, that's just the way it is. If you don't want that, because it adds a fill in the intro, then add an extra two bars at measure one and mute all instruments, so your song starts on measure three. Also check the Preferences, Count-in/Metronome, where you could select no audible count-in or other possibilities.

Hi Yvan,
There will always be a part marker on bar 1, that's normal. Every style has A parts and B parts, if there was no part marker there, nothing would play. You'll just have to decide whether you want the A part playing, or B.
Regarding muting the Drums track, right-click in bar 1, select Bar Settings, choose "Mute" beside the Drums track, and click OK.
Then right-click in bar 9, select Bar Settings, choose Back To Normal beside Drums, and click OK.
Now if you click the Generate and Play button, you won't hear drums until bar 9. This will definitely work as long as the track isn't frozen.

Thanks Kent, it worked. I guess I thought it did not because beside my Drums track my style also contains a "Loop" track defined as "Percussion Loops/Loop132bpm Tambourine Quarters 4 bars" I had to mute that one too! What is the purpose of a "Loop" track compared to Drums? Tks.

Hi Yvan,
RealDrums can only be generated on the Drums track, and are limited to the RealDrums that we make. A loop can contain any kind of audio (including drums), and can be applied to any track, not just Drums. You can also get loops from pretty much anywhere, not just from PG Music.
If you want to have RealDrums playing and also some extra percussion like bongos on a second track, loops are the way to go.
