https://soundcloud.com/kybordr/you-show-me-yoursI kind of hesitate to post this. The Song A Week Challenge was "write a reggae song." Not my strong suit. Also, I had three hours one day to work on music, then a reggae song was due. So I took the lyrics from a bawdy old bar song I wrote a loooong time ago (which did in fact used to get 'em going at a bar full of drunks at the end of the night). Modified the lyrics to be a little "reggae." Fired up BIAB, picked about the first "reggae" style I could find, keyed in the very simple chord changes, and voila ... this "reggae" version of "You Show Me Yours." On the one hand, a cheap song with stupid lyrics and the simplest possible chord progression. On the other hand, a testament to what you can do with BIAB in a time crunch ... this whole project start to finish took about three hours. Thought I'd go ahead and share it for giggles and because I won't have the new real song I'm working on ready for a while. ****** Song Summary ************* Title: You Show Me Yours File:You Show Me Yours (Reggae).SGU Key=G , Tempo 140, Length (m:s)=2:03 4 bar intro, 64 bar chorus, from bar 5 to bar 68. Fun song - I can see why a bar crowd would enjoy the lyrics- and you deliver them with a nice reggae-tinged vocal.
I like to hear people`s backpages -it fills out the musical picture
of influences.
