Hi, I am new to RealBand but have been using BB for 4 years. I have recently installed 2009.5. I have 2 questions, When I open a bb song , 'saved with patches and harmony' , the soloist opens with the correct patch but the melody always defaults to vibraphone, any suggestions would be welcome. Also , when I try to add extra midi files, eg a track for trumpet and a track for flute, the first track plays back as trumpet, but when I add the 2nd track, flute , both tracks become flute but the the trumpet track is still labelled as trumpet. I have read the pdf manual supplied but cant find any info on what I may be doing wrong.

Sounds like the trumpet and flute track are set to the same midi channel
One way to fix is to use 'edit-rechannel' to change the midi channel of one of the tracks
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Hello John,
Another thing that might help, if the patch (vibraphone) isn't showing up in the Tracks window, is to look in the event list by selecting the MIDI track and pressing F2. Then you'll be able to see exactly what patch changes are on that track and edit them if necessary.

Just recently discovered the "Event List". Sure did make a lot of things clearer for me working with Midi Files.

Hi,that has solved the problem of using different instruments. I hadn't realised I needed to put each instrument on a different channel, many thanks for the help
