Hi

I just received the Audiophile Edition for Mac. I also purchase the All Xtra Styles PAK 1- 4.

I installed the extra pak onto the audiophile Drive.

I am running BIAB from the Audiophile Drive.

I can't find any of the Americana Styles...

I seem to have styles missing? when i look at the styles in the style search window for instance..I have styleRT263 but no 264 or 265 but I have RT267? there are gaps all over the place, is this normal?

How do tell, that I have what I should have?

cheers

Wiz

Hi Wiz,

I launched style picker and found these Americana styles in my 2018 Mac Audiophile USB drive.

Go to the " Help " in the Band's menu bar and select What add-ons do i have.

Also if you click on the various columns it will arrange the items in the column to the way you like or help find the file you want. In this listing there are not that many so just a visual review may be enough for you.

Hope this helps.

Did you forget to rebuild the styles after you loaded the Xtra styles? It's an easy step to overlook.

Hi Wiz,
I don't see any RT sets missing from my style list, all of the sets from 260-270 are there.

EDIT: OK here is what I've got for those 2 sets.

Can you look in the folder "/Applications/Band-in-a-Box/Styles" and see if you have these files installed ?
The actual file names are the names on the far left of this screenshot, you probably know that though. smile

I have been on the phone to support, but unfortunately due to time difference ( i am in Australia) it was very short.

Here is where I am at.

Firstly thanks so much to the respondents, greatly appreciated, very cool of you peeps.

I have only 5621 styles listed in the style picker.

When I go to rebuild the styles, BIAB beachballs and I have to force quit

Support recommended I re instal the All XTRA style pack 1-4.. which I have done (this is installed to the BIAB external hard drive)

No joy, after reinstalling fault symptom is the same, beach ball.

Can see those extra real tracks which is really frustrating, as the AMERICANA Stuff is the reason I purchased... 8(

Anyone point me to how to completely uninstall BIAB and I will then re instal again...

cheers

Hey Wiz,
Sorry your having so much trouble here.
Nah, you shouldn't have to activate it yet.
Before you throw in the towel, and wipe/re-install, I have one last ditch suggestion.

If you can navigate to the folder "/Applications/Band-in-a-Box/Styles" select it and hit "command+I" to "get info".
Then check to see if your account name is listed,
If not then click the padlock icon in the lower right and add your account name from the list (by clicking + in the lower left).
Then make sure that the permissions are set for "read & write" next to your account name, click the gear icon and hit "apply to all enclosed items".

Then relaunch BIAB rebuild the style list and see if your styles have come back.

This really shouldn't be necessary, but I have had problems in the past (not only with BIAB, but other programs as well) where an install package that contains thousands of files, sometimes gets the permissions messed up during the installation by Apple's installer program.

Hopefully you can give this a quick shot before spending hours to wipe and re-install.
Hopefully this helps.

Make sure read & write is enabled for your account then the key to the whole thing is "APPLY TO ENCLOSED ITEMS" that's the key to the whole fix !

Hit that menu item, give it a minute to do it's thing and then re build styles.

Wiz,

Sorry to read that you are still having problems.

To me it appears that your MacOS as well as your MacBand's Audiophile USB needs to be repaired.

Try running Apple's Disk Utility on that Audiophile USB.

And also Start up in safe mode ( holding shift key while doing a restart ). If you are not familiar with that process then when you are in the finder ( click the desktop ) go to Help in the Apple menu bar and type in Safe Boot. That will provide you with an explanation and details as how to.

Firstly I want to thank everyone for their help, really kind folks here.

It got sorted out with support... after reinstalling and rescanning a couple of times all was well.

I have decided to return the audiophile version, I don't feel the cost justifies the difference in quality for my purposes.

I will however upgrade my 2014 version to 2018 and continue to use the product.

thanks again to everyone for their help

Cheers

Wiz

PS if you would like to hear what I do I have a heap of youtube videos of my last album release..

I play and sing everything (except the female harmonies they are my wife) and its all real instruments.

Again, huge thanks for helping me sort it out
