Hola, soy usuario de BB desde hace años, toco flauta y saxo, y la novedad más útil para mi fue la posibilidad de transportar automáticamente para instrumentos en Eb y Bb. Desde hace un año toco flauta alto en sol (G Alto flute) Creo que no sería difícil mejorar la versión permitiendo el transporte automático a cualquier instrumento transpositor: trompa en Fa (F French horn) clarinete en la, y por supuesto flauta alto en sol. Pido a todos los usuarios de estos instrumentos que apoyen mi sugerencia. Gracias a todos.

Fernando, BIAB already supports several kinds of transposition. You can change the key of the song, or you can leave the song in the original key but change the appearance of the parts you look at or print for any transposing instrument. Assuming you mean the second choice, look at Options, Preferences, Notation. There is a pull-down for Transpose, or you can enter the transposition manually in the Transpose box right under the pull-down. Click next to the default value of zero and you will see instructions.

Matt, thanks for enlighten Fernando so well in this transposition issue, I am responding him in spanish forum too. Hey... I would give a -D to Free translation.com, but I preffer to retract out , I won´t hurt online androids heart  Now some translation fixes for all of you my englihspoken friends: Since a year ago I touch (play) high flute in sun ("Sol" means both G note and "sun" in spanish). : Imagine, him is touching a metal pipe In the sun?? oopss...According to Free translator this guy should have burnt hands...even everything!  We say "tocar" in spanish meaning to play an musical instrument, "Yo toco guitarra": I play guitar, and not Yo "juego" guitarra, where "juego (to play)" means to take part in a game or sport ... however "tocar" also means "touch" ... confused?? me too !! clarinet in "the" (A key clarinet) "LA" (the) it is article or pronomber in spanish and also mean "A" note: DO RE MI FA SOL LA SI --> C D E F G A B and of course high flute in sun , c´mon..the translator make this guy insist stubbornly in bring his posthumous concert in such hot place! well, whatever...better I still teaching guitar instead spanish to english. Thanks Carlos. The real thing has to be far better than a computer's guess.
I wonder what kind of flute he has, exactly. I also play the alto flute, which is pitched in G. The "typical" flute is called a soprano flute and is of course in C above that. A piccolo is one octave higher. So, what is a "high flute in G"? Could this be a recorder?

Matt, I think you both are talking about the same instrument, again a bind of spanish richness when get automatic english translation. "alto" is a spanish word with several meanings: high, tall or loud, also is a spanish interjection meaning "halt" and It is used to obligate stop a person "ALTO!" (STOP!). In this case ALTO is about high pitch, High Flute= Alto Flute .

Glad to help.
So it is an alto flute you have. I use mine a lot when recording with singers. It gives a wonderful background that doesn't interfere with their range. Such a gorgeous sound.
One thing to remember about the transposition: you need to establish a scheme to keep track of what transposition you used when you save a song. As of version 2009.5, BIAB will tell you with a flashing warning that a transposition is in effect when you load the song. Several of us asked for this feature in the Wishlist.
It's still easy to get confused if, like me, you play several instruments in different keys. You can make separate folders for separate keys, or remember to always change your song back to C - no transposition - before saving, or put the key of the song in the name for the song, such as with a suffix.
