Hey everyone...
I just purchased a new computer and I tried to get it to work but no luck.
I was running BIAB 9.0 OMNIPACK from the external drive it came with. I tried to put it on the new computer but no luck. It was working fine on the old computer. I also installed the same soundcard on my new computer with is an EMU-1212m. Sonar and Garritan are all working great on the new PC.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Earl

Sorry, I should have stated that. I was running it on XP now I'm running it on Vista 64.

Hi Earl,
The first thing to do is to turn off the User Account Control in the Security Center and re-boot and try again
If you are using a soft synth then VSC DXi will not work on Vista 64 but Coyote Forte from the PG Music site will

Moving from computer to computer can change the way the USB drive acts. Variations in voltages (hm sounds like a song that has humming in it), and user permissions.
You didn't say what wasn't working but the VSC Dxi won't work, it's 32 bit.
And you may need both cables for the drive.
And you need to read the readme files and do the install minus the VSC.

Good answers above.
Earl, I wonder, when you say "I tried to put it on the new computer", does that mean you wanted to install BIAB on the new computer or just run it from the external hard drive, or a combination? You can install just the minimum program, no Real Drums or Real Tracks, on your new Drive C, then point the Real Tracks and Real Drums to the external drive. The minimum program takes little space, relatively speaking, and will install needed fonts and drivers on your new boot drive.
Except, as mentioned, you need a different soft synth that works in 64-bit. Coyote Forte has good sounds for the low price.

Well thanks guys for the help. FYI, I was wanting to run it from the external drive. I did forget about the install I had done. I thought I just plugged it in and created a shortcut. It seems to be working ok. Glad you told me about the soft synth not working. I did download Coyote Forte but it really is not near as good, at least to me. I hope there will be another update that allows the VSC to work.
I will be getting GPO4 next week, so that may help.
Thanks again for the help...You guys are great!
